What restaurants would impress DS(8)??

Thanks for all the suggestions! I am off to google the ones I haven't heard of.

I am going to do WCC and try to get dinner reservations at TREX. Maybe somehting will open up because right now it's all booked up!

Oh, and nobody tell dh there is an ESPN restaurant ;)

Keep trying with TREX; if it's anything like most things Disney, there will be cancellations.

Be sure to ask for ketchup at WCC (even if you don't need it).

Call Trex directly. They only release a few tables into the Disney dining website. You can almost always get a reservation by calling Trex instead.

Pizza Planet is a favorite of my son. He is a big Toy Story fanatic.

He also loves 50s PT for the B&W TV shows and the chicken noodle soup. He always get seconds.

I second this, I couldn't get any availability at all through WDW dining, and when I called directly I was able to get our ideal time for 6 people!

Whispering Canyon cafe looks really neat!DH will love it too!! I am going to make reservations for there......

Any suggestions on what day I should make reservations i.e. - is it easier to get there from a certain park??

I am still trying to get a dinner reservation for TREX cafe but all the dinners are booked for the week we are going :sad1:

T Rex and Rain Forest owned by same company and neither on DDP but now can be booked thru Disney. They also have excellent member card with discounts that you pay once for and the first time you use it will pay for itself:goodvibes You can take the boat from Magic Kingdom to Wilderness Lodge for WCC. just keep trying as ressies drop every day. If you have the tickets that are for each day and no hopper then can only use one ticket per day BUT can leave and then go back to that same park within that day. same with parking. will depend on traffic as to how long from Epcot to DTD. we gave up the car long time ago as to us is so much easier:worship:. BUT is why both available as some want a car

Sci-Fi in DHS and T-Rex in DTD. My sons, ages 9 and 6 list those as their favorites.

We also took my nephew, 6 to T-Rex. His parents own a fru-fru restaurant in NC. They are trained chefs and frankly, food snobs. Imagine how funny it was when my nephew exclaimed, "This is the best restaurant I've ever been to!", while drinking from a long bone cup, watching a giant squid move, LOL.

My son LOVED T-Rex. We went on our Animal Kingdom day as we didn't spend all day there. We left around 4 pm and went to DTD. My DH and DS did the boats then we got to T-Rex around 5:30. It was crowded and we didn't have reservations. They took our name and we looked around the shop inside (very cool stuff! They even have a Build-A-Dino area!). We only waited about 45 minutes and it went fast since we were looking around. We sat in the Ice Cave area and it was great! The food was good- about the same as Hard Rock or Planet Hollywood. But the experience and expression on my son's face was priceless!
