What resort resturant is worth all the transportation hassles?

On a non-park day, when we will be doing one of the water parks or DisneyQuest, I'd like to go to a nice sit-down dinner at one of the resorts. No, not nice, FABULOUS! For me to drag the family on to WDW transportation - possibly one or more buses, or bus plus monorail - this restaurant should blow us away!

We will be staying at OKW, and plan to do Olivia's one of our non-park days, so I'm looking for something worth the commute on one of our other non-park days! LOL!

Any suggestions?

Boma AND Jiko at AKL. See my dining review I just posted and the menu's at allearsnet.com.

California Grill, Yachtsmans Steakhouse, and Flying Fish are three that I've tried that I feel is worth the transportation hassle.

jiko at AKL or artist point at WL. the last several times we were at california grill we were disappointed in the meal. happy eating.

Ohana at the POLY!!!! All you can eat and if you go later, you can request a table near the window and watch wishes!

whispering canyon at the WL fun family atmosphere with hysterical servers! Watch out for the stick horses!

Another vote for 'Ohana. This one is worth walking to, IMO. ;)

If you're looking for more formal dining, California Grill and Artist Point are also excellent.

There are 5-6 that would be worth it, but my first choice would be JIko.
Fine location, good food--worth the effort!!

Any kids going and if so, how old? Also is your group willing to try new food or more interested in "tried and true"? Is there a particular resort that you'd enjoy visiting more than others? Sorry for sthe questions, but think you'll find good reviews of about every nice restaurant at a deluxe resort at WDW....so it may come down to your specific family likes and dislikes or a particular atmosphere you'd enjoy. Sorry not to answer your question directly, but if you could give us a little more info people may be able to taylor their answers more to your specific family....

Hope you enjoy wherever you go!

Boma and Ohana are both worth it to me. Also Cape May if you like mussels and clams.

Definitely JIKO. We have at least one meal there every trip.

It is always my DW's Mother's Day meal choice when we are there. Too bad we will not be there on Mother's Day this year, DW will be about 8.5 months along in here pregnancy. We will eat there in February instead.:teeth:

I would have to say that the California Grill is totally worth any effort to go to. The food and the service are great and the views are amazing. I would also say that the Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club & O'Hana's at the Polynesian are both worth the trip.

Like others said, I don't know your family's interests or what your children like.

For us two adults our favorites are Jiko's at AKL and Citricos at GF.

Flying Fish at BW or Palio at Dolphin/Swan, either way you are at the Boardwalk area and can enjoy that also.

If you happen to pick Jiko's try one of their Chocolate Martini's, to die for. Can,t wait to get back in Dec and go there for dinner again. Never have had a bad meal or service there. We usually go 4 or 5 times a year and eat there at least once on every trip.

If you really want to splurge and money is not a problem how about Victoria and Albert's at the GF. Now that is Fabalous
