For the comp room Disney gives you?

We originally picked the poly just because we've never stayed there, and it feels very tropical. We ended up switching to the Boardwalk and our planner booked us in the garden suite! I'm so excited, and I know that we wouldn't have gotten a suite at the poly, as there is only one.

I'm torn between the boardwalk and the GF. Our ceremony and reception will be at the boardwalk so I think it would be easy just to stay there for the night but I would also love to stay at the gf.

I am confused though because we will be staying at the POR and does this mean that we will have to check in and check out when we have to change resorts?

Our wedding will be on a wed and we leave on a sat so we would stay one night at a deluxe and then go back for the rest of our stay at POR.

Unless you plan on paying for that very same night at POR, you will have to check-out of POR, check-into BWI/GF, stay the night, check-out of BWI/GF, then check back into POR. And of course, that means all your belongings have to go along with you.

That complete PITA scenario is the very reason we just had DFTW apply our comp night to our existing BC reservations.

We stayed at the GF in a suite. It was really great! However, they are not known for their size! The boardwalk suites are really nice, too! I am not sure what time your ceremony is, but we had ours at the WP and we had it arranged so the suite would be ready early so we could check-in early and the bridal party could get ready there. However, it was not a lot of fun changing resorts that morning!

I have heard of other brides using the comp night on the night after their wedding so they could have the time to enjoy it!

we went with the Boardwalk since our reception is nearby at ADH. Crossing our fingers that we'll get upgraded to a garden suite b/c i hear they are beautiful!!!

The garden suites at the Boardwalk are fabulous! We had an intimate so no comp night but we did spend the week in one of the garden suites for our wedding and honeymoon.

We stayed at the Beach Club & were upgraded to the Honeymoon Suite :) The rest of our stay was at the Beach Club Villas in a 1 bedroom.

I will just pay the for the whole 5 nights at POR and just take the comp room. That way I don't have to take all my belongings. That will be better. I will just take what I need for the night.

Thanks for all the responses girls.

We chose the Grand Floridian because that's where our reception will be and it will be easier to get back to our room. But there are so many great places to stay!! Good luck.

By the way, Irish Cinderella, I absolutely adore the picture in your signature!

We took the Poly and loved every second of it. I let Leif choose b/c we did not have the time to go to Hawaii and we were going to go on the Disney cruise instead.

Our reception is at the Boardwalk and for the same reasons rebecca explained we are just staying there. The GF would be nice but I really do not want to pack up all my stuff and move to another resort.

We are going to be in Disney for a week before so for the first 6 nights we are staying in a standard room. The day before the wedding we are moving to the garden suite for 3 nights. We are moving but at least the bellman will do it and it is the same resort. hey maybe they will just upgrade us for the whole time?:rotfl:

OK, so I have a dumb question; do you only get the comp room if you are having a wishes/custom ceremony? I have never heard of this with the escape. I was just curious. :goodvibes By the way, keep up all of the stories/threads!! I absolutely love this forum and reading about everyone's memories!!!! :thumbsup2
