What is the best rental car option for 6 (3 adults, 3 kids-ages 7,8,4). Do I have to rent a minivan, or are there autos that have this many seat belts? Looking for the least expensive way to rent a car.

We had the same scenario...'cept it was 4 adults and 2 kids, and ended up getting a mini-van. We packed lightly and it was just right. Most Rent-a-Car web-sites will tell you how many people, and pieces of luggage, that their cars will handle. Most full-size cars will seat 5-6 people, however, you may be holding some luggage in your lap. Hope this helps!

We rented a GMC Safari last Feb. from National for 4 adults and 2 kids. Its bigger than most mini vans and worked out great. I would highly recommend both the vehicle and National.

bump this one up...my family is going (5 of us) in early dec. for 10 days, but my mother will also be with us for the first 3 days. we would like to get a full size from a company that rents them with 6 seat belts at a good rate on site at the airport but am having difficulty finding one for 6 people. any ideas?

National said they could not guarantee 6 seats, so we went with the mini-van instead.

We decided to live dangerously - we just reserved a full size through Nationals emerald aisle - and picked a mini van when we got there. (approx. $130.00 for a week) Of course I wouldn't do it if you're traveling at a really busy time. We arrived in Tampa 9/26 - so not many people were traveling then. It would have been tough to fit the 6 of us and all our bags in anything smaller!

we got a lincoln towncar through budget on priceline,2 adults and a 15 yr old , and a9 yr old 7 yr old and 3 yr old, for six of us it was very comfortable, and we drove to Clearwater for three days then back to disney for 7 days, and we are now looking to buy a lincoln town car, I got a great through priceline. it had plenty of room , all our suitcases fit in the trunk

It is not safe for children to sit in the front seat if there is a possibility an air bag will deploy. As far as I know, all of the newer cars have airbags for the front seat passenger. I suppose you could have the three adults sit in the front seat, but I doubt that would be very comfortable. I'd go with the minivan for safety reasons.

We just rented a mini-van through priceline. Bid $22 per day.. and got a minivan from Budget. Our dates are 11/30-12-08... this costed us only about $40 extra not to have to worry about it.

We have 3 adults and 1 child.... but with a stroller and wheelchair we know we need the extra space.

avis just added some great rates, check out their site; we're getting chevy venture minivan in atlantic city with unlimited miles (the trip is 1050 miles each way) for 8 days at around $260 incl tax

Robin, we tried priceline last night for $24/day for a minivan and did not get it. Is there a trick to getting this low a price? HOW did you get $22?????????

My trip is scheduled for Nov 30 - dec 10 I am I have 3 adults 3 children and I am going to take my chances with emerald Aisle and hope for the best. I am getting a price of 225 including tax for 10 days which is $150 cheaper then the best minivzn deal I can find.

I just checked Avis and got a total price of $521. Did you use any codes to get that great price?
