I'd love to start DISigning but I'm thinking your not using paint :lmao: so what program do you use and why do you prefer it? I'm going to buy one but don't want to wish I had something else after the fact. Thanks Everyone!

I am not a Disigner here, but I have found answers to questions like this up in the FAQ sticky at the top of the page. Start there!

I use photoshop elements and LOOOVE it! And Bababear...you do a lot with your paint program...your designs are always wonderful!

The nice thing about purchasing photoshop elements is that there are a lot of video tutorials on youtube that you can watch to learn how to use it and there is a user forum www.elementsvillage.com

There is a learning curve but once you learn how to use it...it is a lot of fun. I highly suggest the video tutorials as they show you the actual screen you will be seeing on your computer and walk you through how to make things.

Here is just one example that teaches you how to work with layers:

I just grabbed the video quickly so hopefully it is a good one...I haven't personally watched it but it should give you an idea of the video tutorials you can find online.

I haven't done any DISigning, but at work, I use Photoshop 7. It's an older version, but it's still pretty robust and helpful. I use it primarily for brochures, one-page designs, and things like that.

At home I use Photoshop CS4, which is newer, but not the newest, version of Photoshop. It's a more powerful than Photoshop 7, and more user friendly, but also a fair bit more expensive. But it's also a lot of fun to play around with!
