When we took the cruise back in May, the pins on the lanyards were pretty much the same as in the parks. Every now and again you would find a different pin.
on our last cruise for halloween I thought this would be a great time to trade, brought lots of good pins--but I was rather disappointed.
Anyone who pin trades did not bring their pins. They thought it would not be a good place so they left them behind--bad mistake. I traded one pin--the mickey ears flag pin to somone who needed it for their mom.
As for cast lanyards the only night that many pins were on the lanyards was the captains night (we were on 7night cruise). They had many pins. I saw the sorcerer mickey on top of the words MAGIC and as soon as I was going to trade a pin for it someone walked up with a pin handed it to the CM and off they went with the pin I wanted. I was pretty upset. He was the only person who was really trading and all he did was keep a pocked full of pins with him and trade off for all the good pins. He did not even offer to show his pins to me--only to the other person I was trading the mickey flag with. But that's a whole different story.
Anyway, on the last night of the cruise I wandered around with my pinpack and happened to find a CM in the giftshop. She had the RAVE pin on her lanyard--that was my greatest find. Others were ok but nothing that great. I know of other friends of mine, though who were on cruises and had gerat luck.
It's pretty much a shot in the dark--if you are going though, don't make that mistake thinking others won't have pins. I could always be there on that cruise and just THINK of what we could have traded! LOL
