What percentage of your WDW spent OKW points are used at OKW>

We just used a few banked OKW to finish a reservation at BCV but I can't imagine that would happen too often.

It is interesting that you would say this because I was part of 2 different DVC focus groups and the CM conducting the sessions told our groups that Disney is aware of the DIS but they do not monitor the boards nor do they take the comments posted here to heart. I am not saying this is correct, I am only repeating what the CM told my group in the 2 different DVC focus groups that I was chosen to be a part of.

The poll is relevant to how those who responded feel about the issue in question and is therefore a reflection of feelings here.

As for the assertion that this forum "is nothing when compared to the actual number of DVC members there really are!!!!!!! "- that logic could be used to question the value of any poll or discussion on this site.

I didn't ad enough points at BCV or WL for a whole week. At the 11 month window I book my weekdays using home points, I book at OKW for the weekend days. At the seven month window I change my OKW over to whichever "Villas" I'm trying to stay at. I have also used OKW points for 8 nites at VB and 2 nites at HH.

I'm having more than a little trouble understanding the question. I don't have any "WDW spent OKW points", I don't think.

Is the question "What percentage of your OKW points are used for reservations at OKW, as opposed to the other onsite DVC resorts"? If this is the question, than about 60%...

I think the point was if you own OKW points, do you use them at OKW or do you use them at other WDW/DVC resorts.

I have been contacted personally by DVC management personnel, on two different occasions, by telephone, at my home, regarding posts on this board. I have also called DVC on many occasions with questions about issues raised here and have met personally with DVC management CM's on many occasions while at WDW. They are very familiar with this site and with many of us who post here.

In both cases when I was called, the concern was with incorrect information that had been posted here. In both cases, the correct information was posted in rebuttal.

Perhaps the focus group CM's don't monitor any information here since they need to follow the protocol established for the surveys they are conducting- just as it should be. I would hope that focus groups would not use outside influence to arrive at any of their conclusions- regardless of the source.

In the case of this particular poll, there may be no information not already known by DVC, but who knows- they may get some insight because of the responses made right here- even by a small sampling of members.

Going a little off topic here but -- Doc, you sure were right on the money awhile back when you passed along the info that DVC would be making some big announcements. I'm sure the Member Event was one of them and I imagine the slide, whenever they finally announce it to the general membership, was another not to mention the re-wiring of the resorts for computer access and moving towards putting in HDTV sets. And, of course, you've taken us from announcement through building to opening of two resorts already -- with #3 on the way.

The HDTV is great, when is it going to happen? Why are they only putting it in OKW for the first few years?

Wow, OKW rooms and HDTV, its gonna be great.

You would have thought they would be putting it into BWV first, seeing as how close you have to sit to the TV.....

Rumor control --- I don't know what the roll-out is for the HDTV. It came up in the BWV meeting notes (probably part of the reason for the new armoires there). Since they have said they will keep the DVC's consistent, I suspect all the resorts will be getting it but haven't seen it written officially (just like I haven't seen anything "officially" about the slide).

I would also accept comments from DVC principles at Annual Meetings as "official". I expect we'll all get some followup statement, probably in the next VM or on the website- especially about the OKW slide.

Wow, how exciting to get called at home by DVC management! And here I was thrilled when they called me at home to ask me to be part of focus groups! LOL!
I guess you are correct in that the focus groups have a different protocol established that they must follow, because other than acknowledging that they knew of the Disney related internet sites including DIS, they denied any type of monitoring/post reading/connection/correspondence etc., when this came up in both focus groups.
P.S. If Disney is really out there reading these boards.......Please pay attention to all the posts from DVC members who feel as though some type of decent park pass discount is greatly needed and would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

We do not own OKW points, but from May 03 to Mar 04 we are using 629 points of which:

OKW: 146
23%

VB: 247
39%

BCV: 90 (this is our home resort)
14%

BWV: 66
10.5%

VWL: 80
13%

Note totals may not add to 100% due to rounding errors

Indeed, HHI is in the cards for a possible March trip in the future or October combined with some SC sightseeing and maybe a side trip to Charleston

With the way we are chewing points up , we will need to pick up some more as well

Would not want to leave ole HHI feeling slighted by our scheduling

80% of respondents estimate they use their OKW points 50% of the time or more to stay at OKW. Taking into consideration that people own at multiple resorts (some with OKW as the add-on rather than the primary), it looks like folks on this board are doing their best to keep the DVC system in balance. (I looked at the figures this morning with 98 OKW respondents, 78 at 50% or more.

Ours is closer to 97%. We have only used our points for VB for a weekend and DLH for three nights. The rest of our stays since 1997 have been at OKW solely.

Sorry but I just have to repeat a statement that was posted on another thread by dainechlicht, of course I had to change the DVC resort to BWV from OKW but the thought/principle is the same..................................................
This thread is supposed to be about where OKW pts are used and instead it is turning into another BWV bashing!!!!!!!!!
But I guess that this is ok since the bashing is not against OKW.
