What Percent Of Your Dvc Trips Have Not Been To Your Home Resort(s)

Well, less than 24 hours is technically a day....

It takes us about 12-16 hours depending on traffic and how often we stop. A long day, sure, but doable.

LOL! We've driven from Salt Lake City to Toledo in under 24 hours (including stops) a few times--still hardly what I'd consider a day trip!

Back to the original topic...
We always seem to end up at Old Key West because the rooms are huge and the points are low, so it makes sense for us. But for this next trip, I'm trying to talk DH into trying something different.

I don't know exactly how to count which trips were to our home resort. When we first bought in, we bought at OKW and always stayed there, except for one trip to HH. Then we sold that contract. Later, we bought at SSR. We've stayed there once (and loved it) but have still usually stayed at OKW (3 trips) and also once stayed at VB--which we liked so much we did an add-on there.

We seem to get our "try-a-new-resort" fix through pool-hopping, and I'm thinking that because we can't do that at Stormalong Bay, DH may be open to someday actually staying there, just to try the pool!

I forgot that BCV is one of our home resorts (how could I forget my 100 BCV points?), so I wish I could go back and change my answer-I always stay at one of our 2 home resorts. Once a year, DH and I stay at our main one (where we have more points), OKW, then once a year I stay in a studio at BCV on a solo trip. The only time I've stayed at a non-home resort is when it was a last minute trip and BCV wasn't available.

The vast majority of our stays have been at either of our two DVC properties - BWV and BCV - but we have also enjoyed stays at YC CL (on points), AKL CL (cash), and VB (on points).

Every trip is super! It's all WDW.

We'll use our points to take 3 trips each year. One will always be to SSR, and one will always be to a beach location. The third trip we'll alternate between the other resorts we like - hitting each one once every 3 or 4 years. We'll always try to add a few nights at an untried non-DVC location once each year until we've been everywhere.

We do the same thing with our dining. We have a few restaurants we visit EVERY trip, a few we rotate, and each year we try at least one new location. I like a combination of tradition and variety.

My anser to the poll is somewhat accurate. I chose "I own everywhere so I am always at a home resort!".

Techincally I do not own everywhere, I only own at four, owever I only stay at the four I own. The one time I did stay at a DVC I do not own was on cash. After staying there I decided that was one I would not be purchasing.

When my mom was alive, we did a May trip at OKW and an early December trip at BWV (home is BWV). Now that she's gone, I've been staying almost exclusively at BWV.

Last August we finally tried the VWL and now it would probably take a rampaging homicidal moose to get us to go anywhere else.

First: I'm a bit math challenged. That being stated, if I did the math right and understood the question, we have never stayed at our home resort of VB. Got SSR points this year but have not stayed there as members,yet.

So I voted "less than 100%"

I voted 10% I stayed at two DVC resorts before we purchased OKW & BWV's so those stays don't count. I have stay at BCV once (no availability at BWV during food & wine) with my points other then my home resorts VWL & BWV. I bought where I love to stay.
