I see that in early September (2-7) on the DL website, it has the Orange Stinger closed for refurb. However, with the major overhaul taking place, I'm curious, is that the only attraction closed at DCA??

Perhaps someone who's been recently can help me understand what all is closed at DCA. Thanks:thumbsup2

can someone tell me what exactly does the orange stinger do?? i know it closed just want to know what im missing. thanks

This is the basic concept. It is the carnival type ride where you sit in the big swings and spin in circles. Yuck! It makes me sick!

i told daughter that the teacups are the only ride i cant do.:sad2:
she is almost 7
will she be able to ride by herself
i think last time my neice went on with another family so maybe thats what we will have to do.

The first part of your trip the giant lagoon should be still empty and drained, exposing all of the new World of Color fountains and stuff. However, the lake is supposed to be filled by the 5th I think, so all of that equipment will probably be submerged for the first time in like a year by the end of your trip. Other than that, nothing is really closed. They have already started construction for the Little Mermaid ride and Carsland, but those construction sites don't render any closed attractions. :thumbsup2

I thought it was after Labor Day?

Oh, my bad. It seems the lagoon will be filled around the 9th. So, OP it will still be drained throughout your trip. Source Micechat: http://micechat.com/forums/disneyland-resort/118894-disneys-california-adventure-project-tracker-vi.html

Isn't the maliboomer closed? I know it's still sitting there, but is it running?

Ok, thank you. I was afraid that half the park might be closed or something.

No... it just looks that way. I can't imagine what it will look like when they start working on the entrance.

I agree! I was looking at that website today thinking... "wow this looks great... but what will that meant to us in the meantime?"

However, I'm thrilled they're incorporating more :tink: "disney magic" in DCA.

And I can't wait for WOC! :hyper:

Orange Stinger is my dd's favorite ride! She's very disappointed it will be closed the next 2 times we go. I used to love it too, but am too old for those spinny rides now, lol.

The construction is all behind big blue walls. It looks kind of cool walking back to paradise Pier by way of the Golden Zephyr...it is almost eerie to be suppounded by the construction walls. I know I can't wait for the water to come back. We love the Fun Wheel, and I am just not amazed by the construction!

OT-Am I the only one that is not in awe of the new entrance plans? It looks too MGM/Hollywood studios to me!

The most recent cast member reference guide I have says the lagoon will be filled on 9/5

OK, I have to ask, that is a decent size chunk of water going in there, any idea how long it takes to fill the lagoon? :lmao:
