What part time WDW job would you love to have?

So lets pretend you have retired from your day job, sold your house up north in the freezing cold winters, and moved to Orlando. You have now been told you can have any part time job at WDW. What job would you pick?

I would, without a doubt, want to be a Friendship boat captain cruising the canals of the Epcot resorts. I love the water and I think this would be the perfect job.

I would like to be selling Pins in shade at any location.

wish we were there NOW

Main Street Philharmonic or Play at the Biergarten.

Captain of the jungle cruise.

As an 8th grade teacher, corny humor is my thing.

I'd say something in transportation! Drive the monorail or a bus! Heck, even drive the Magical Express bus!

Hmm, what a great question.

There are so many jobs in Disney I would love. I would drive the Magical Express Bus (only to Disney though not home, too sad lol). I would also like to work in Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor or in one of the Kids Programs.
Being a character would be fun as well (not the ones with the full suits though, too hot).

Bellhop at TOT or work at one of the classic attractions at MK-HM, Peter Pan, IASW, or pirates.

Main Street Philharmonic or Play at the Biergarten.

Think big. Conductor of Candlelight Processional.

I had to really think about this. I wouldn't want an outside job...just too hot, so I decided I'd love to work the front desk at The Poly...I just love that lobby...or having seen it, I'd love to be a receptionist in the building where they make all the costumes. I can't sew at all, so I'd have to be in a non-sewing position. I could be the person who warns everyone that a tour is coming through. :teeth:

Great thread. Especially since I have retired and am planning a move to the Orlando area shortly. I've given this exact question some thought during some idle musings and came up with some dream jobs - only some of which I'm actually qualified to do. ;)
  • Boat driver
  • Haunted Mansion host
  • Tour guide
  • Golf operations
  • Living Seas diver
  • greeter in one of the hotels
  • Park custodial (you would get a lot of opportunities to talk to guests)
  • Ride maintenance
  • Monorail
  • Train conductor

Some jobs I'd hate to have:
  • 'White wing' (cleans up after the horses in the parades)
  • fast food
  • mousekeeping
  • valet/bell services

The part time job I would love to have would be a greeter on Main Street or anything in Frontierland. I love their costumes, so that would be good for me. For the unique job I would love would be at HM.

After some thought...I think I would like to work at the check in desk at the Poly....I love that resort...

I'm a geek. I'd love to work back stage in the computer room programming new rides and/or maintaining systems. Would be sweet to know the tech and code behind HM or some of the other rides.

I think the ultimate part-time job would be President, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Operations, U.S. & France. :rolleyes1

I think I would do the same job that I did on my college program back in 1990- I loved working in the Magic Kingdom parking lot. It was so much fun and there was a bit more freedom than some of the theme park rides.

Honestly though I'd do just about anything p/t at my favorite place.

/thread win

well, I drive boats part time, but my dream job in the company would be a tour guide. I love sharing dorky details with the guests(I tell Bob Gurr stories on the FW route when I'm lucky enough to get on it). The problem is you have to go through guest relations to get to tour guide and that ain't happenin :rotfl:

I'd like to be on the decorating team. I'd love to be in the parks when they are empty and get to decorate for all the holidays! I look forward to it at home every year, so I'd love to have more to decorate, more ideas to play with and more help doing it!
