What others don't think that much of... and you love?

Animal Kingdom-I absolutely LOVE that park!

Journey into the Imagination with Figment-love it, granted I have never been on the original ride. I think if people would stop comparing it to the original they would enjoy it more. It's such a cute ride and I love the song.

Lights Motors Action! I've only been to Disneyworld once but I ended up going to see this 3 times over the course of the trip because I loved it so much.

I'm also in the group who loves Animal Kingdom. It was my favourite park during that visit.

CoP. I love the stupid song, and the family and the dog and Uncle Orville. I just love everything about it. I keep expecting it to be bulldozed, but I hope it never is. I would be heartbroken.

HS - I feel like a lot of people don't "get" the Hollywood part, like the street performers & the fact that SHOWS count too, not just thrill rides. Not on this board, lol, but in real life I've often heard people say there's nothing to DO at HS except one roller coaster & the TOT. Many think TSM is some weird toddler ride & don't bother checking it out at all. We feel the opposite - there's no shortage of things that hold our attention at this park & we rarely see everything that we intend to.

I feel the exact same about DHS! It's my second favorite park and I feel like it's so underappreciated. Everyone says there's nothing to do there but I always feel like there's SO much that I love - tons of my favs! Maybe it's just the actor in me coming out but I truly adore the park

I also really like animal kingdom, especially the trails, the bats are so cute.

For me, its counter service fair, like hot dogs, I don't eat this sort of thing too much where I'm from if at all so getting to go a whole fortnight eating lunches of hot dogs, chicken tenders or whatever those things are and various other treats I don't eat much at home (i did eat "proper" food as certain people I know seem to snootily term it for dinner) was really fun for me, since it was a novelty and I liked the quick nature of it. I get that you want more complex and exotic (to you) fare or the ambience for the table service places is better, I really do. But some of the posts I've seen around the net seem less, "each to their own" and more accusatory and dare I say implying a certain lack of culture, especially if you should dare to feed your child any of it. Relax people, some people just want to eat what they like, and who is to say what these people do in their own time at home? They could be as cultured as any of their critics.

The Great Movie Ride People bash it as outdated and boring, full of things they don't recognize. Well, it's not focused only on more recent films, because it's showcasing movies as a whole creative genre...of which Walt Disney was one of the pioneers. I was really impressed with GMR and the great montage at the end.

I love the GMR also and don't understand why people criticize it for having outdated films. All of the films are classics or represent a classic genre. I am only in my mid 30s and even though most of the films were "before my time" I still recognize most of them or at least the actors/actresses mentioned. Much appreciation here for the GMR!

So, this was inspired by this other thread What Others rave about and you just don't get it

I wanted to ask the opposite... What are things about WDW that other people seem to not care about that much, or even generally dislike, and yet you love it?

I'm going to start with Tony's Town Square at the MK. Everyone seems to think it's meh at best and terrible inedible at worst.
But we had an amaaaaazing experience! We had great service, everyone was so great about our birthday celebration and our parade table request. The food was so delicious, their bread with olive oil was heavenly! People seemed to say their tomato sauce was hideous and we loved it.
Maybe it's the lower season we picked to visit but we loved everything about it.

We're definitely going back!

I have to agree with you on Tony's.
It had been raining and cold (yes it happens) we were a tad un-prepared. (trip with just my little sister and myself)
I was starting to relapse with a cold I had not quite shaken before we came.
I needed to get inside, get warm, and have a good meal. No ADR's.
A CM fixed us up last minute with a spot a Tony's. The service was friendly. The atmosphere nice.
I had the Shrimp Scampi, it was very generous (plenty of shrimp and asparagus), flavorful, and well prepared.
Best meal of my trip.

Maybe it was just such a change from counter service, maybe it was the much needed dry/warm place, I dunno. But I loved it!
Ton'y is a top 10 Disney memory for me.

I love Captain EO. Everyone hates it and thinks its outdated. I love every cheezy character. I love the dance they do and love the song!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am crazy happy EO is back. Over the top happy.
I CANNOT WAIT!!!

This is a great thread! Let's see here...

* Animal Kingdom - Jungle Treks... The theming in these trails are awesome. I just love the atmosphere and how you feel like you are in a jungle.

* Magic Kingdom - For some reason, I love to pass by the castle when the stage show is going on. I don't actually stop and watch it, but I love seeing it when I pass by.

* EPCOT - The view of SpaceShip earth From World Showcase. On a beautiful sunny day, you can't beat strolling through World Showcase with a beer and admire the views.

AK as a whole, never got the dislike for this park. It's one of our favorites as many of you have mentioned.

Soarin' -- there's a lot of, "what's the big deal?" It's fun. It isn't OMG the greatest thing in the whole entire world, but it's fun.

Love COP, too...glad others do. Love PM and WDWRR. We also liked Swiss Fam Treehouse...made me think of the movie, for sure. Like riding the riverboat, too. All these things provide respite for us. We had a great dinner at CRT, too. Thought it would be just bleh, or ok, based on the board, but my meal was very tasty!

I am in agreement - I like AK more than most people. On my last trip, my family wasn't feeling well and I got to spend a few hours walking around AK and it was heaven! I love animals and I love all the details in the park. The Tree of Life is actually my favorite park "centerpiece". I like it even better than the castle.

Another thing I like is all the little details in World Showcase - one thing that comes to mind is the model train in Germany.

AK - it's a two day park for us, no way we could do it on half a day. We spent at least 20 minutes watching Divine last time, and so many people walked right past her.

I know exactly what you mean! I still remember eating a hotdog and watching a parade go past as a child. It certainly felt special to me I can tell you!

Oh, I also really love club cool, I like trying the drinks from around the world. Most people skip it it seems, it doesn't take very long at all, and the Israeli lemon drink was amazing last time I was in there. Also, I'd like tips on how some people manage to do DHS or AK in half a day... Maybe three quarters at a push, but half? Don't think I could do it myself, I'd collapse from exhaustion I think.

The MK train. I love it. Mickey and Minnie's houses. My dd is sad about this. She said when we go back she will tell Mick. and Min. that they can live with us.

I also agree with a PP who mentioned the view of Spaceship Earth from WS. LOVE IT.

For me it's those darn country bears! I LOVE them. They make me laugh every single time. Never gets old for me.

I'm going to second (third, fourth...whatever) GMR. It's a fun little journey, and that movie at the end is fantastic to me. I just love it. And while I'm in the park anyway, I'll add to the shout outs to DHS. It's my second favorite part by a pretty significant margin.

Adding backlot express (the counter service near Star Tours) to my list. I love the theming there, I even prefer it to some of the more upscale places I've seen in trip reports. I really like studying the walls, takes time away from waiting.
