What "other" resorts, hotels, rentals are close to Disney's HHI resort???

The closest resorts to the DVC resort are Harbourside III, Marriott Sunset Pointe and Marriott Harbor Pointe - which are on the same tidal marsh (Broad Creek) as the DVC Resort and may all be seen from the DVC property at Shelter Cove. The Marriott Resort and Hilton Oceanfront are located about a mile away on the beach.

Harbourside III is all fractional ownership - there are no wholly owned units but they do trade with RCI and also rent thru the POA. Harbourside 1 and Harbourside II are both wholly owned condo units, but they do not trade with RCI. Also nearby and visible from the DVC resort are Newport (condos across from the Lodge area), Main Sail (across the marina from the DVC resort), Yacht Club (across the marina from the DVC resort) and Captain's Quarters (across the inlet and next to the Marriott resorts). Newport does not have rentals, Harborside I and II, Main Sail and Yacht Club all offer private rentals.

Scott's Fishmarket and Bistro 17 (restaurants) are located in Harborside I. Little Venice and Parrot Cove (restaurants) are located in Harborside II. San Miguels (restaurant) is located in Harborside III. All are on the ground level, marina side of those buildings. The pavillion where Shannon Tanner performs thru the summer months is located between Harborside II and III on the marina.

Here is an aerial view of the DVC Resort (center of the image, red roofs). It is located on Longview Island in Braod Creek and the Shelter Cove Marina is the area below the resort with all of the docks. Newport is at the upper right. If you scan out one level, you can see the rest of Shelter Cove and make out Harborside I, II, III, Main Sail, Yacht Club, Captain's Quarters, Marriott's Sunset and Harbor Pointe. By scanning out more you can also view the Beach House, Marriott Resort/Spa and Hilton OceanFront Resort and with a wide angle scan you can also see the Sea Pines area (far left of HH Island) where some of the other Marriotts are located.

Hey there!! I am from Dothan AL.... my parents still live there. My dh's parents live in Pensacola FL. My parents are coming up to visit us in early June. IS that on the beach or across from the beach??

The Hampton is located 2-3 miles from the resort at the corner of Rt 278 and Dillon Rd. It is not on the beach or the marsh.

That is so cool! My father-in-law is originally from Pensacola, and his wife is from Dothan. I think Doc answered your other question.

As for the Hampton Inn...in our case MIL was just looking for a place to sleep, and have her own breathing room.

I looked at the Harbor Point and Sunset Pointe...... looks nice, and I think 312 a night for a 2 bedroom is GREAT. How far is a public beach though?? It is not beach side.

Okay so if we stayed at Palmetto Dunes....is that all on the beach side? How far/long a walk would it be to the actual beach say from the furtherst accomodation on that property. I am finding all sorts of places available for rental at Palmetto Dunes but I have no idea what I am looking at. LOL

Palmetto Dunes is across 278 from DVC/Shelter Cove. It is on the "beach" side. I think the furthest rentals would be St Andrews condos. I'd guess about 3/4 mile, maybe less. There's Queen's Grant, which is probably 1/4-1/2 mile. There's a couple of different places with "Captain's" in the name....I think maybe Captains Cove? Anyway, they're closer to the beach.

Most rentals within Palmetto Dunes will have beach access (the Disney Beach House is a public access site to the beach). Captain's Walk is the condo next to the Beach House (and on the beach) to the south, Villamare is next to the Beach House (and on the beach) to the north and there are several other condo resorts on the beach (Windsor I and II, etc.) that will also offer rentals.

Harborside III, Sunset Pointe and Harbor Pointe all have beach access (via a resort parking permit) to the Disney access area and also at the Dunes House (just north of the Marriott Resort/Spa). The Disney parkinig permit also provides access to both beach access points.
