Our first DVC vacation is booked for mid-December!:cool1::banana:
I am so excited:yay:! But what to do until Dec.? I go on the website just to see what other rooms are available and start to think maybe AKL or BWV would be better for this stay (- but no I have to stay strong! BC and THV for 10 days are going to be great! - but maybe staying in one place would be better? - no more thinking!) So what do you to pass the time?
We have been once a year for the past five years, always booked at 4-5 months out and switched resorts at least 3 times before taking the trip! But with DVC you really can't do that unless you want a split stay or are very lucky with waitlisting.
So how do you pass the time?

Congratulations on your first DVC reservation stay. Have you been there for Christmas before? We are going for the first time early December for Christmas.

Waiting is hard - read trip reports, start thinking where you want to dine, tours, etc. I am not switching. We have not stayed at OKW for years and looking forward to it. You will have many years ahead to try all the other resorts too.

Have fun planning!!

Well . . . the December park hours should be posted on the WDW website soon, so you will be able to start thinking about your day to day itinerary.

Your 180 days ADR's will be coming up soon, so you can start thinking about where you want to eat and what character experiences you might want to do.

Tickets for MVMCP are already on sale and there are DVC discounted tickets available through the DVC member website.

The Epcot candlelight processional may be something that you want to do, so think about which night of your week you might want to be at Epcot for that event. The narrator list won't be out until July or August.

With a 10 day trip, you'll want to consider purchasing the TIW card when you get there, if you plan to do several TS and some character meals. Also think about whether you want to buy a DVC discounted AP. Both of these would be good options if your 2013 trip will fall within 12 months of your December trip.

See . . . there are lots of things to think about! Have fun planning!!!

A December trip is the most magical to me. The Christmas decorations and festivities are incredible. Planning is half the fun and we are in the middle of planning our Christmas trip already this year. The entire family is going and we're leaving on Christmas Day for the craziest week ever but we can't wait. :santa: Start asking your family what their must dos are and make a list. Book you dining at 180 days out and know that it will probably change up till the week before you leave:laughing:. Have a great time.
