"What Not To Wear" - Show is on again May 29

Thanks for the update...can't wait!!! Now you have to change your ticker!!!

Love the new date... I am not good about waiting ;)

Glad they moved it closer. Can't wait to see it. :thumbsup2

Yay, the show airs MUCH sooner! :cool1:

You know, your wardrobe must not have been THAT bad. You didn't make it into the promos! :lmao:

I've always wondered if they can really enforce the "bring all your clothes" rule. I have so many that they would far exceed the checked luggage allowance for air travel!

2 days before i went to NYC i moved - so ALL my clothes were packed up in boxes! since it was a surprise to me that i was going to be on the show, i didn't have much time to try and find all my clothes. (i used them as padding too - so they were spread out among dozens of packed boxes). there were quite a few things i didn't bring simply because i couldn't find them in time! they were a bit annoyed that i forgot some choice pieces, but i seriously didn't find them until weeks later when i finally got around to unpacking.
there was a pair of shoes that they really wanted me to bring (loafers with furry cow print) - i used to wear them all the time. but they were so old that just a few days before i was ambushed by the show, i threw them out. they didn't believe me, but i really had thrown them away because they had quite a few holes in them!

Subscribing so I can remember to catch the show. :thumbsup2

I was just thinking about this today. I'm so glad they changed it to Nov 30th. My mother and I can't wait to see it. We were going to be on the road traveling to WDW and I doubt we would get TLC on hotel cable. Especially those ones along the highway. We will be watching. I bet you are getting nervous knowing there is a whole show about you coming.

So you are going to remind us closer to the date right??? I don't want to miss it but my DVR won't program that far ahead!

yes, i'll certainly post a reminder when it's getting close - especially since they'll probably change it again!

Just found this thread today.... I guess I shouldn't be surprised that there are fans of this show, but I am. This is one of the WORST shows on television. It's shallow and just sits wrong with me. The few times I've watched it, it's been in "train wreck" mode - It's horriffic but I can't look away! I always root for the person to get to keep their clothes, no matter how awful they are... who do those two think they are anyway? Who CARES what they think?

I think it also angers me because I have to wear cruddy Goodwill clothes most of the time, because I simply can't afford nice things... and the message of this show seems to be "If you can't buy expensive designer New York clothes, well then YOU SUCK!" Even if I could, I woudln't waste that much money on clothes.

I'd love to see them try to make someone like me (definiatly among the ranks of not-small) look nice in their stupid designer clothes... the thought makes me :lmao:

I don't know whether I want to watch the show that the OP is on... I think seeing them throw out her Disney stuff and her Crocs would break my heart. Hits too close to home, ya know?

I have to disagree with you. I think that giving someone $5000 worth of new clothes is a good thing. I don't think they are trying to portray the message that you HAVE to buy expensive designer things, what they are trying to tell you is what basic shapes and styles work best on your figure type. You can find the basic styles in any price range. I've seen them shop at H&M many times and those are hardly expensive designer fashions. I have not been on the show, but I have actually applied some of their advice to my own wardrobe, and it does make a difference.

I think people care what Stacy and Clinton think because they know what they are talking about. I have never seen that show where the person looked better before they were on. I don't find them mean-spirited at all, but maybe that is just me. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion of course.

I will be watching the show on November 30, and rooting Philadisney on! I can't wait to see it!

Oh, and by the way, they have had some plus size women on. They shopped at Lane Bryant and Avenue, and they looked great!

One of the things I really like about the show is they never put down a womens body, just say what to do to maximize their best features and how to dress the best for their body type. Not loose weight to look good, dress the body you have now to look it's best. I love that.

Phila, have you gone back to your old ways, or has the experience really changed you?

You hit it dead on! i was a bit uncomfortable with my body shape before the show - something i don't feel as badly about now that i know how to buy clothes that fit. i didn't realize that was such a problem for me.
the experience changed me because i am more educated now on how to purchase clothing that fits me and goes together. i recently went clothes shopping for myself and it was really nice to know what to look for instead of just getting frustrated and giving up after half an hour

Awesome! I put it in my calendar!

Thanks for letting us know! I can't wait to see your show! My DH and I are so addicted to Stacy & Clinton!
