Was it hard? Did you break down and cry like so many women do? Did they make you throw anything out that you are missing now???????
Sorry, I am being a bit impatient. It is all too cool!
Subscribing can't wait to see the show...
Do they really throw all your clothes out and not let you keep anything. I assume they go to charity or something.
I'm glad to hear that they are so nice off camera. I asked a question earlier but it was so long ago, it's way back in this thread. Did you get to keep the clothes they put on the manniquins?? The ones where they show you what to shop for? I always wondered if they were bonus clothes.
The mannequins are just suggestions - you can go out and find the clothes they are wearing and purchase them, but you don't have to. if you choose to, they come out of your $5000.
I'm so sorry for your sister. I'm sure if you nominated her, she'd get picked. I wonder if she'd have to pay taxes on the $5,000. If so, maybe some friends and family could pool money to pay for it. What a nice surprise that would be for your sister. You're a good sis.I have a question...was there any cost to you?
The reason I ask is that my sister would love to be on the show and I would love to nominate her. She has a rare medical condition which makes her unable to work. She has huge medical bills and they are struggling financially. Her wardrobe consists of old tshirts and sweats. I have considered nominating her, but assume that she would be responsible for taxes and some other expenses associated with the show and I just know that they wouldn't be able to afford it if she has to come up with any money to cover it.
They can barely pay their bills each month and had to file bankruptcy last year. So, any added expense would be impossible.
Anyway...congrats on the show. Hopefully I'll be able to watch it when it airs.

Yes, you do have to pay taxes on the $5000. but, that is the ONLY money i will have to put out. everything else was reimbursed.
i hope your sister gets a chance to go on the show. it was really a wonderful experience. i like the above posters suggestion about family & friends chipping in for the taxes - i can't imagine it would be that much if split between several people.
