We raced out of B&C to the Beach Club Bus Stop
And after a short wait, we got to the Magic Kingdom by 5:30 – hooray! Our first stop was the town hall. For this. Doesn’t he look thrilled?
Thanks to my panicky anxious rushrushrush attitude, we had time. We went for a stroll around the castle.
And hit a couple of rides. Jack’s very first ride at the Magic Kingdom was Winnie The Pooh. With no wait! Marvelous.
And then we headed under the castle to a little boutique that was brand-new since my last visit. Jack had no idea what was going on, but he looked suspicious when I led him into the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique – we were surrounded by little girls in princess outfits.
I checked him in for his “Cool Dude” treatment half an hour early, hoping we could get in sooner (nothing else in Fantasyland was worth riding at that point due to lonnng lines). This turned out to be a mistake because they were running 30 minutes behind, so we had a long wait. We sat in the lobby watching little girls come in. There was one tiny little blonde girl who I thought was absolutely adorable. Her dad was showing her all the Princess Aurora gear and helping her pick out her dress, shoes, wand, etc. The little girl just could not believe this was happening to her. She pointed at the dress with her eyes all wide and asked her dad, “I can have that??” and he said yes. And he handed her a pair of the pink sparkly shoes and she was like, “This is for ME???” She was so excited, it was really cute.

As I checked in at the counter, the manager-type woman beamed at me and said “And what is the princess’s name?” I had to correct her, and she apologized – “We don’t get a lot of princes here.” Jack still wasn’t sure what was going on, but he didn’t look too thrilled. The manager talked me into getting a “Cool Dudette” (same thing) for myself.
When we were finally called, Jack went first. Our Fairy Godmother in Training was Marita, and Jack sat down in her chair with still no idea of what she was going to be doing to him. Marita was delightful, she had never done a Cool Dude before so she was excited to see Jack. He was disturbed that people kept telling him how few guys come into the BBB. While I was waiting for him one of the FGIT came over and said hello – it was AngieBelle! I felt bad because I was so surprised to see her (even though John told me I would probably run into her!) I was kind of taken aback when she said hi. Later I tried to find her to say goodbye but she was with a little princess. Darn…oh well, hi Angie!

Then it was my turn
Honestly I regret getting this done for myself – it was hard to do the Cool Dude on me because having long hair, it couldn’t be spiked and the mickey head didn’t really come out. Oh well. Now I can say I’ve had a royal treatment at the BBB!
Nothing else in Fantasyland really appealed, so we headed out – I would like to have shown Jack Philharmagic, but he has VERY poor eyesight and cannot see 3-D. He can put the glasses on and see the image relatively clearly, but he doesn’t get the 3-D effect. Remember that for later.
So next we were off to Tomorrowland! With a pit stop at the teacups first. This was great fun – Jack spun our cup enthusiastically for the first half of the ride, and then spent the second half curled up in a ball regretting it.
I started off Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin by bragging about how I knew where some of the secret high-scoring targets are. Then he somehow hit something that got him a zillion points and beat me.
A ride on my favorite Tomorrowland attraction, the TTA, was next. Followed by Space Mountain, which I actually enjoyed for once. It was smoother than I remembered. We had fun playing in the arcade where I beat Jack at basketball.
He then beat me (although I didn’t take a picture of that). Apparently we also played pinball, because I took a picture of this
Next it was turkey leg time! Jack bought one and ate the whole thing. We sat on a bench to eat and there was a security guard standing nearby who looked just like Uncle Fester from the Addams Family. Well I got close enough to read his nametag, and it actually said Fester! Hilarious. I didn’t get a picture, so just picture this guy in a Disney security uniform and hat.
We tried to find milkshakes next, but failed miserably, so were off to Adventureland instead. We went on pirates, which was frustrating because everyone on our boat kept taking flash photos every few seconds. Then we took a spin on the carpets, where Jack and I got into a row about how one is supposed to sit. They said ‘no single riders’ which he thought meant we both had to cram into the front seat of our magic carpet. He didn’t get that the two knobs on the carpet controlled different things, so I stuck my arm behind us to control the back one, since he insisted on us squishing in together in the front.
And still we had time before the park closed, so we ran off to Splash Mountain, Yay!
We were pretty sleepy so we ran out before the fireworks ended, hopping right on the bus. Since our attempt at finding a Magic Kingdom Milkshake failed, we stopped at Beaches and Cream on our way back to the room. Then to sleep!
Coming up: Hollywood Studios and sushi!
