The trip is almost here. We're leaving August 11 and returning August 15. In your opinion, what's NOT to miss at:

Disneyland Hotel (where we're staying)

Disneyland

California Adventure

Downtown Disney

For Birthdays?

It can be ANYTHING. Food, rides, sites, sounds, shopping, shows...WHATEVER!

:dance3:

DLH - Goofy's was a fun place (depending on ages, etc.). I think the breakfast is better than the dinner though. You can have any purchases in DL and DCA delivered to your hotel rather than lugging them around all day!!

Disneyland - Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Fantasmic!, the Teacups. Baked potato soup from the Carnation Cafe. Cherry Coke from the Coke Corner.

DCA - Tower of Terror, single rider for California Screamin', corn dogs from Corn Dog Castle, Aladdin at the Hyperion. Date shakes from Sam Andreas Shakes.

DTD - Hagen Daaz (yummy!), World of Disney and other stores (my son is 12, he loves shopping here!).

Birthdays - make sure you let the hotel know you're celebratinga birthday. They will get you a birthday pin and probably an autographed picture of some of the characters. Vacation Planning can help arrange surprises (baskets, treats, etc.) to be delivered to your room.

Disneyland Hotel: Goofy's Kitchen for sure! I also like to check out what cartoon is playing in the theater nearby when I'm waiting. The waterslide at the pool is fun too!

Disneyland: Indy and the Matterhorn! Watching the Dapper Dans on Main Street and Billy Hill at Frontierland. Eating Monte Cristos at Cafe Orleans. Watching Fantasmic and the fireworks!

California Adventure: Sun Wheel, Soarin' Over California, Toy Story Midway Mania, and Mulholland Madness! Watching the Play Parade. Eating ice cream from Catch a Flave! Mmmm...so good.

Downtown Disney: Eating at Ralph Brennen's Jazz Kitchen, Rainforest Cafe, and Naples. Smelling the yummy goodness of Jamba Juice. Looking at the overpriced clothes at the Disney Vault. Seeing all the cool movie stuff at Starbillias.

For Birthdays?: Don't forget a b-day button from City Hall or any other place w/ a desk (sometimes you might hear a message from Goofy). Package of tortillas from Mission Tortilla Factory in DCA. Celebrating at Goofy's Kitchen is a lot of fun!

I don't know if they still do it, but about 2 years ago we celebrated a birthday at the Plaza Inn inside of Disneyland. :goodvibes It was really cute and very silly.

We all received drinks and a cupcake. Everyone could decorate their cupcakes with frosting and various decorations. At the end of the party, everyone could take an individual photo with Mickey and Minnie. It cost $10 per person, but I think it might have gone up in price since then. :confused3

Billy Hill and the Hillbillies
Indy ride
Dole whip float
Aladdin show
DL fireworks
Electric parade at DCA
Oscar at Carnation Cafe (he served Walt!)
DTD street entertainment
Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen (sit inside near the piano player)
Mint Juleps
Churros (my mother and brother had them for the first time (they are from Canada) and were in love with them)
Pirates ride
Monsters ride
Animation Studio at DCA
Jedi Training Academy (it's entertaining even if you don't have little ones participating and a must if you are a Star Wars fan!)
The fresh fruit at the stands (best watermelon slice I've ever had!)
Pooh Corner for treats (all the candy places offer the same things but the theming in this store is not to miss - it's a bit hidden near the Splash Mountain exit)

I would have added the French Market fried chicken but apparently that's been discontinued in favour of a 'healthier' menu :sad2:

DLH : Definitely go swimming ! Check out the koi fish pond, its supposed to be beautiful.

DL : Railroad Train from Tomorrowland to Mainstreet, Jungle Cruise, Splash Mountain, Peter Pan's Flight, Mad Tea Party, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, getting a Tigger Tail at Pooh's Corner, Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, eating a Turkey Leg, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Roger Rabbit's Cartoon Spin, eating at either the Blue Bayou or at Cafe Orleans, having breakfast at the Carnation Cafe, Space Mountain, watching the Jedi Training show, Fantasmic, watching the fireworks, eating a dole whip at the Tiki Room, drinking a Tinker Bell Twist, and Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, skewers from Bengal BBQ

DCA : Monster's Inc, Disney Animation, Grizzly River Run, Pixar Play Parade, Electrical Parade, Maliboomer, Orange Stinger, take a look and enjoy the creativity of bugsland.

Birthdays : getting a birthday bucket at one of the character meals, buying a birthday cake hat :), getting a "its my birthday" pin in City Hall so all the CMs give you a greeting, if the birthday is for someone else get birthday gift basket sent to your room so when you first go in there its a surprise
