This recent post stating that on the day this poster went all bags were required to be in lockers -INCLUDING FANNY PACKS!!!--has me concerned. My strategy included using a hip pack and I am worried that I will now need to stand in locker lines!

Does anyone else have recent experience in this regard? I'm really hoping this was just a one day thing, but since I am going next week I need to know if this is a trend!

The poster above was there just this last Monday (3-14).
Have any of you been there in the last week, and if so were fanny/hip packs allowed on FJ?

(I am posting this also on the crowd report thread where the original post came from also.)

yes fanny packs need to go in lockers. You can get to the lockers by going through the store. When you actually go through the line to get to the lockers, it is all congested because every stops right there but there are so many more lockers you can access. Definitely go through the store to get to the lockers.

There have been reports of that not being allowed this week.

I don't understand why people don't use the lockers for Dragon Challenge?

I don't understand why people don't use the lockers for Dragon Challenge?

Because the lockers are free for a period timed to the posted wait for the ride they are paired with. DC waits are almost always shorter than FJ, and often by a wide margin. You may very well be charged when you returned to the DC locker after riding FJ.

If the posted time for Dragon Challenge is 30 minutes and for FJ is 90 minutes, the lockers at DC won't be free for long enough.

I wore my fanny pack on FJ twice this week once on tues and once on wed. Once reg line and once single rider.

Yeah, I thought about mentioning this but didn't want to look like I was piling on a PP. You can sometimes get a fanny pack on the ride, either by TM's not enforcing it or not seeing it. Whether it will actually be with you at the end of the ride: I do not know.

In past threads, it was suggested that you could carry your butterbeer mugs on the ride if you hook them to your belt with a caribeaner. Has anyone tried this this week? Has it also been banned?

It was probably one employee who was just misinformed or thought when they were told "absolutely no bags" that it included fanny packs.

Every once in a while that seems to happen.

I had no problem two weeks ago, went on numerous times with a fanny pack.

I've been told by a former FJ TM that you are not allowed anything larger than a cell phone on the ride. Just put your bags in a locker. It's free, and causes a lot less congestion.

We where just there feb10-13. I used my passporter neck lanyard and tucked it in my shirt for every ride I went on in US and IOA... I did All the rides and was never asked to lock up :goodvibes great time was had!!

Husband wore his fanny pack on the ride. Once was because he forgot about it and the next time he thought he'd just see......his shirt covered it. I don't think they saw it. I put my other bag in the locker......we were there 3/19 and 3/20

My grandmother wears her fanny pack on that ride all the time. All you have to do is cover it up with a jacket or a t shrt or something. If you hide it then they will .ore than likely not see it

Rode yesterday with my fanny pack - no issues. I can't imagine why riding with a fanny pack would be a problem?

**I just realized that we always tell them my hubby isn't riding (he never does). Maybe they think I am going to pass my fanny pack to him? Yikes, never thought of it. I hope I'm not being a bad tourist?

Me neither. :confused3 I just know that some TMs think it's important.

I honestly think that some new employee was told "absolutely no bags" and thought that meant fanny packs as well. We only heard of that one incident. Everyone else has had no issues. I've ridden FJ probably 20 times with no one telling me to put my fanny bag in a locker. My fanny bag is quite flat to the body though.

My daughter and I wore fanny packs constantly when we were there in December. We must have ridden 15 times in total. We did not try to hide the packs, and we didn't wear big shirts over them either. (Although a lot of our trip was cold, so our coats might have obscured them somewhat...) No one ever said anything to us.
