what new food did you discover in orlando

When we stayed at Saratoga Springs my daughter fell in love with grape jam and had it nearly every day on toast.

When we returned to the UK we couldn't find it anywhere so this year we brought two jars in Warmarts before we came home.

My DD and myself fell in love with the bourbon/ terriyaki chicken tried it over here but its not the same.

I loved the jam at the ASMo, it was lovely. I almost bought a jar from MK but decided not to as thought it would get broken on the way home.

However I am going to take a chance this time and buy a jar!

Take some bubble wrap to put round it and then wrap it in a beach towel i always bring a bottle of southern comfort back this way and so far it has been ok.

Years ago I fell in love with Taco Bell sauce and in California you can buy it in bottles in supermarkets - so I bought 6 to bring home! They all arrived intact and were used up all too quickly sorry to say!

If you have room in your handluggage, pop the jar in there, alternatively I usually pack breakables in with all my dirty clothes just in case they break.

I kinda miss the days when all we had to talk about were threads like this... I am so tired of being concerned about the changes in flight and baggage. I know all will be fine, but it has put a bit of a damper on stuff.

Has no one tried a peanut butter and jelly sandwich? Or do you still hate them after you've tried them? :teeth:

I'm getting such a kick out of this thread. Funny how everything people like best is either fried or full of sugar. And the Bloomin' Onion is a real eye-opener (and meant to be shared by the whole table...definitely not for just one person).

No one mentioned hash browns. Or chicken fried steak. Or sweet potato pie. All good Southern cookin', those. And what about Pecan Pie? Or iced tea? Or root beer?

I tried Mushy Peas, skate (who knew it would be fish?!) and Marmite on my first visit to the UK. While I think I'll stick with the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, it was great fun to try something new. Can't wait for the next visit and the next search for new taste sensations! :)
