According to several threads here on the DIS, Disney will not spend any money in World Showcase. They will only build if they can find a sponsor to pay for it.
Personally, though, I'd like to see Australia or New Zealand. Of course, they could do a "land" at the AK for Australia too: with the animal attractions they could add, I think I'd prefer it that way. Many other people would probably agree.
So, the only things they'd ever add at WS are those for which an animal-related exhibit wouldn't really work- maybe a country in Europe that's dying for more American tourist dollars?
hogwartsdropout, I think Russia would be a wonderful addition, too! How about Egypt, with pyramids? Or would that be too much like the Mexican showcase?
I've got to agree with Greece. Wonderful food, amazing architecture, a rich history and some of the most friendly hosts I've ever had the joy to experience.
I also feel Russia would be a SWEET addition! Imagine.... a "Mini Red Square"
I remember being a kid and seeing the signs for *COMING SOON* for Israel, possibly Egypt too (or was it Africa and then they settled for that little dinky area???)
There is a website about this ---- Lemme try and find it.
