What new country would you want in Epcot??

Australia or Ireland. Please get rid of Morocco.

Why do you want to get rid of Morocco? :guilty: It's one of my favorites!

Anyway, I'd like to see Russia added to World Showcase. :thumbsup2

GREECE!!! The architecture, the food, the people, the food and the beauty of the country. Oh, did I say food! THE FOOD!!!

If they built India they could staff it with all the US workers whose jobs were eliminated through out sourcing! :rolleyes1

5) Spain -- they could set up a replica of Pamplona for a "running of the bulls" attraction, except instead of bulls they could let loose a crowd of toddlers rushing to get Mickey's autograph.
omg that would be so funny! I would love Spain to be in the Showcase! And also the flaminco (sp?) dancers. It would be sooo cool!

My final answer...needs to be an island culture, Pacific, South Pacific, Fiji/Tahiti would be cool - tie it in with Poly...or maybe Yap (you know where they have the giant stone money wheels)

Greece is such a good choice. Egypt would be pretty interesting too. Although I don't know of any egyptian food! :rotfl2:

Problem with most suggestions is that they tend to merge with countries already there, Mexico/Spain, UK/Ireland, Iceland/Norway. Africa (south of Meditteraenean countries) is the only continent which could bring in something totally new. The only problem is could the governments of these countries provide funds towards this (as I believe they have to). The only country with any financial clout is South Africa which, due to globalisation is'nt much different to other developed countries.

Greece! Mainly because it is my favorite food and I would love to see a Greek restaurant or two at Epcot. I also think that the Greek architecture is stunning and very different from anything they have at World Showcase.

Unfortunately, there probably are too many western european countries in WS to justify Greece. To better represent the world, I believe they actually SHOULD go with South America or another African country, or perhaps Russia, which should be represented due to size. Brazil would be an ideal choice, I think, and Brazilian fare is also great!

India gets my vote!
Mostly for the food, but just imagine the Taj Mahal in the background, the Ganges river flowing through the pavilion, representations of various Hindu gods, the Kama Sutra painted on the walls of the gift shop -- no, scratch that last one! If they wanted an attraction they could do something from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.

BTW it is not just Brits who like Indian food, though I have to admit that is where I learned to appreciate it!

I agree Europe is adequately represented, e.g. Switzerland might be nice, but with Italy, France, and Germany already represented it would be redundant.

Australia has been a top choice in previous polls, but has the problem of no identifiable cuisine other than Outback Steakhouse.

Ireland will never happen. In terms of the food/entertainment element, Disney already "checked that box" with the new restaurant at PI, and as far as theming, there's too much overlap with the existing U.K. exhibit (some people already confuse the China and Japan pavillions, Disney has learned that literal differentiation of WS attractions is important).

I also wouldn't hold my breath waiting for Switzerland. Fondue isn't enough to support an entire restaurant, and the "Alps/Heidi/William Tell" theme is a little too thin to build a whole attraction around.

On a higher level, as Gonz pointed out, the World Showcase exhibits require investment and support from the government of the given country. That is why the WS skews "western/developed world," and why the third world, less developed nations and/or countries with internal economic/political stress are so poorly represented. I'd love to see exhibits on India (the second largest country in the world) or Brazil or Peru, but doubt those are going to ever happen.
