What "new and improved" product do you wish hadn't been improved?

Chef Boyardee Pizza Kit - I bought it about a month ago. When I made it, I always taste the sauce while I am making and boy did I get a surprise. It didn't taste like what I was used to. Then I took a look at the box and in the corner it mentioned that that sauced was improved and kids like it better. I had called the company to just tell them that I like the older sauce better (hoping other people will call and get it changed back). They in turn sent me a coupon for a Chef Boyardee coupon for a free item. I really didnt expect it. I just wanted to let them know I didn't care for the change.

Anything they've added Splenda to. The latest was my favorite Dannon Light and Fit yogurt. I just can't eat it anymore with that horrible aftertaste.

Reynolds Wrap-It is too thin. I now have to pay more for the heavy duty to get the original product.

Good, I'm glad someone else noticed Reynolds Wrap!! I bought a box not too long ago and it's terrible! I thought maybe it was just a "bad" box!

I used to love Wachamacallit candy bars in my teens. Then they decided to improve it by adding caramel. Yuck! I sure miss the original.

YES! I am feeling that pain! AND Ive mentioned it to people before and no one remembers my caramel-free Whatchamacallit!!!

Funny you should bring up the "new" Doritos...

My DH (the ultimate Doritos fan) cannot STAND the new and improved Doritos. He's really upset about it! We've even tried generic/store brand Doritos to see if they are like the old ones - but all of the ones we've found taste just like the new and improved ones -- proving that they're all made in the same factory anyway.

(I think that Doritos taste like feet smell - so I could care less.)

Tic-Tacs. For years, they advertised that they were small and low calorie. So why did they go and make them bigger? I liked them better small.

Bounty paper towels. They made them "more absorbent." What does that mean? It means they made the roll smaller but still charge the same price. You don't use any less, because you still tear off one sheet to dry your hands, so the roll is more expensive and you go through it quicker. Some improvement.

"Ultra" dish detergents. Same as above. You use the same amount but get less in the bottle and pay more for it. Great deal.

Vidal Sassoon shampoo/conditioner. It used to have a great cherry-almond scent. They changed it to a really strong perfumey scent. It smelled like Eternity - yuck!

McDonald's Apple pies. They used to have the crust that was like deep fried. Now its baked because its healthier. If I wanted to be healthier than I wouldn't be at McDonalds!

MMMMM fried McD's pies. I loved the cherry ones. I hadn't had one in years and then I went to Germany in 2000. All the McD's there still fry them up. I gorged on them till I was sick!

I used to love Burger King fries until they changed them several years back. Nasty nasty nasty stuff.

I agree! I used the shampoo/conditioner combo, spray gel, and hairspray. It is the only hairspray that worked on my hair. A few years back when they were discontinuing that line, I bought a bunch of it on clearance and save it for whenI really need my hair to look good. I still have some left.
DH says it smells like Swedish fish.

They changed Vaseline hand lotion for extra dry skin a few years ago. To me it feels greasier now and VERY perfumy.

I loved it when it was in stick form, then they went and changed it to the candy coated tablets and made it more spicy, less sweet. Yuck. I'm seeing it around again in stick form, so others must have agreed.

I loved Scotties tissues, where you could reach in the box instead of having it "pop up". When I gotta sneeze I don't want to have to play around trying to get a tissue out, (I have lots of allergies). And the Puffs have lotion on them that smears on the bottom of my glasses when I blow my nose. I even sent an email to the company and heard back from them that the "reach in" were still available but I can't find them anymore. It's just one of the little things in life.

I used to LOVE KFC coleslaw. It was fabulous, just the most yummy stuff. A few years ago they did something to it. It is in no way the same. I won't even get it now the two or three times a year we get food there.

Cocoa Puffs. They used to be hollow inside and to me as a kid ....fabulous, I loved them....I was having a retro craving a few months ago and bought a box...now they're all solid, and different...and just plain wrong. I will never be able to taste the Cocoa Puffs of my memory again.
