What 'Must Have' are the Kids after for Christmas ??

DS is getting a telescope and DD is getting a pair of rollerskates. They've sent their Santa letters already :teeth:

Don't flame me here but I don't see Christmas as an excuse to buy loads of very expensive presents for the kids just for the sake of it. My two will be delighted with their presents and we will get them a couple of other small things they also really want like some Yu-Gi-Oh cards for DS and a Polly Pocket case / set for DD. I see their friends with huge lists of "must have's" running into 100's and 100's of ££ and their parents are struggling to buy it all but rather than say no they go-ahead and get them all.

i agree as well, kids do expect and want everything that is written down on their lists, my 2 dd's want an ipod each

My kids are aloud 2 things to put on there list and a small surprize
but as they are getting bigger ,the dealer the things are

I find it so hard because other children can get so much More
some people just go crazy this time of year

Having not had any children to buy for before I have a strong urge to go mental this year and buy loads :teeth:

But as Baby will only be a few weeks old, sadly there aren't too many cool toys to buy yet :( Having said that though we did spend a bit in Mothercare today on some bits and bobs :)

Roll on the next few years though I say ;)

I know I've been guilty of this in the past when, rather than the children wanting everything, I've allowed my general enthusiasm for Christmas to takeover and gone nuts. This year I have to be sensible as we're going away for New Year and that's the major gift to everyone. I have bought a few stocking fillers to open on Christmas Day but that's it.

Have you pre-ordered one??

I have a feeling that these are going to be the hard to find item this Christmas :(

Yep, preordered back in May (just in case they decided that is what they wanted for Christmas) from Play so fingers crossed we should get them, though Play are saying they cannot guarantee orders before Christmas.

DD who will be 4 in dec.

The usual dolls, pram, accessories for the doll, a learning toy writing table.
Little presnts of bratz dolls, books, dvd, and other stocking fillers.

She asked for 1 thing yesterday (after i have finished her shopping) a princess kitchen.

She started to write her list today, so far we have paper and pencils, then got bored writting.

Loft is quite full, just have to wrap up.

Just to let you know that Woolworths has a 10% off day today and tomorrow (Friday & Saturday) along with 3 for 2's - so there should be some good bargains around (and No I don't work for Woolies !!) :)

I think it depends what a person's finances are. If they have the cash I don't see any problems in how much they spend. However, if they don't and have to rely on credit then they shouldn't spend so much.

DD (3) and I went to the Disney store last night to get ideas for Grandparents.
'List' is as follow's -
Lumpy and Lumpy's Mum(actually just a larger version but who am I to disagree ;) ) from Granny

Bullseye , Woody and a soft Buzz from Grandad (we already have Jessie).

Both gave me a budget of £30 to work with.Granny was slightly under Grandad a little over.

We've got leappad books and Disney DVD's and some Little People sets as 'Santa presents' along with a few Lion King bits and pieces we picked up in DLRP.

I agree you should spend within your means but also buy what your children will like and play with rather than the most 'in' thing.
