What Musical Instrument Do You Most Enjoy the Sound Of?

Oboe, tenor sax, and vioin...however, I was trained in traditional Bel Canto vocals so gotta say my favorite instrument is a pure voice or chorus.

Having to pick is difficult.

I love me a good classical piano especially with appropriate use of the sustainer pedal.

I also love the violin and it's versatility.

My favorite instruments are:

-the 5 string banjo
-the harp
-the mandolin

Acoustic guitar is my favorite. I like the mandolin, too.

Overall, I prefer strings over others.

Piano followed closely by voice.

I play trumpet, clarinet and bass clarinet, so I'm partial to those.

Next up would be a good drum line.

French horn and harp.

When old marx brother films are on tv I wait for the part where Harpo plays the harp. Boy he was very good at it.

MORE COWBELL!

Flugelhorn, mellophone, marimba and a rockin drumline!

I LOVE MARCHING BAND!

****Headed to Broken Arrow Invitational next week****

Hey, will you get a picture of Broken Arrow's new uniforms for me, I am dying to see what they look like :lmao:.

I like the violin and french horn the most but I really like them all.

I love the sound of a cello. It's so full and rich, and I sort of feel it in my chest when I hear it. I've heard it said that the cello comes closest to the human voice than any other instrument.

Trombone! Thank goodness I like it, my DH is getting his DMA (doctorate in music) in trombone performance!

Even though I played the flute/piccolo in school, I always liked the brass better. I love the sounds of brass quintets, too!

I've thought about asking this question on the DIS, but I was always afraid no one would answer ! Thanks for asking :).

I LOVE the sound of a French horn in a band/symphony performance. It just has such a pure sounding tone, and you know things are getting serious when the French horns get their big moment in a performance :teeth:.

Going to listen to Holst's The Planets now. . .

Smart woman. :thumbsup2

French horn is by far superior to all other sounds on earth. It is the instrument of God. ;) :worship:

And I'm not biased just because I'm a player or anything. :rolleyes1

Different instruments are good for different moods/vibes.

Trumpets are great for many things, one example, watch that movie Mambo Kings, great. Made me want to go out and get some old Mambo music. The orchestration and trumpets, not big band exactly, but different. Its fabulous, trumpet lovers this movie is a must see.

Piano = elegant soothing.

Violins = elegant soothing as well.

Saxaphone = crazy, whacky, good times have fun type feeling.

Electric guitar = rocks.

Drums = makes you want to dance or groove to the beat.

Trumpet/Trombone = Powerful, exhalted, majestic.

I could go on, but I don't want this to be one of my 1000 word posts. :)

I love it when the cello kicks in in Beethoven's Ode to Joy, I thought it was really beautiful in the Emmortal Beloved movie version, it was emphasized kind of in that movie. Yo Yo Ma.
