To leaving for your trip to Disney. Sort of a prep for the parks or certain attractions?

I'll start

For this trip it will be our DD6 first trip so we will watch movies that will prepare her for certain rides.

Alice in Wonderland for the tea cups
Dumbo
Peter Pan
Song of the South for Splash Mountain
The First Indiana Jones movie for the Stunt Show
Honey I shrunk the Kids for the play area
Who framed Roger Rabbit
Flight of the Navigator incase the spaceship is still part of the back lot tour.

I have what I think is the first tour tape of WDW presented by Disney and Delta airlines. Pre MGM that I watch allot so we will watch that again also.

You prep movies?

Thanks for taking part

Dave

We don't have cable, so no Disney channel. So, we watch a few Mickey/Minnie/Donald/Goofy movies so that the kids "know" those characters. Also, Snow White and Little Mermaid come to mind. Sword in the Stone if you plan to take part in the Merlin ceremony. Beauty and the Beast and Cinderella, to "know" those characters as well.

A Pooh movie if you're doing the Crystal Palace.

Hmmmmm. . . maybe we should make a Disney Canon.

Just curious does anyone have a copy of Song of the South? I understand it was banned, I had tried to get a copy from the libraries (they have intra library loan, and searched) I checked ebay, and you can only get a copy from Europe for big $$$ obviously... I'm sure I saw this as a kid... and with Splash Mountain, I decided to check out a copy of the Briar Rabbit stories to read...

and for Animal Kingdom, dont forget Lion King, and Pocohantas!! I love when we saw Pocohantas and she taught us how to say "hello"!! :flower1:

One of my favorite movies because of childhood, and the Brer critters of course. I bought it as a Japenese import for either $100 or $200 can't remember it has been 11 plus years ago on Laser disc then rented a laser disc player to boot it over onto VHS.
Still has japenese sub titles on the songs because they could not translate the songs well.

Still a great flick

We're reading Tom Sawyer (I love the Island and we will be traveling with 3 boys so dirt is always high on the agenda) plus I want to rent Honey I shrunk the kids and maybe Swiss Family Robinson. (I hope I can find a book for that one - we still have 3 months to go and I find reading Classic Adventures are the only things that apeaal to my 10 yo as well as the 4yo.)

I recently purchased Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas...its totally psychin me up for our trip! :D

If your daughter would be at all skittish with the characters, I would recommend a video that shows the characters interacting with kids in the park. If nothing else, the free vacation planningvideo that you can from the disneyworld.com. There's also a Disneyland Fun Sing-along video that I checked out of the public library.

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh is a good one, with lots of good songs in it. The Toy Story movies would be fun too if you want to go on the Buzz Lightyear ride, which is as much fun for adults as it is for the kids.

FYI: I haven't seen any Roger Rabbit attractions at WDW. Is that Universal?

I never thought of Toy Story that ride is new since I was there.
I will put Pocohontas on our list as well as The Lion King
Pirates of the Carribean as well.
Many advantures of Winnie the Pooh
Stitch
Swiss Family Robinson

What else am I missing?

Don't if they still have it but they use to have a warehouse typr prop place that had about of crates with different sound effects, the steam roller that you could lay under for photos, etc from Roger Rabbit. I posted this question last week to see if it was still there, I think maybe at the end of the back lot studio tour.
