What movies do my kids need to see before our trip?

I've noticed that a lot of the rides at Universal Studies (and some at Islands of Adventure) are associated with specific movies. We're going in December (:wizard:), and I'd like to make up a list of whatever movies and/or TV shows and/or cartoons associated with the various rides so we can watch them before we go.

Here's what I've go so far:

All the Harry Potter films (obviously!)

ET

The Men in Black series

The Jurassic Park series

The Terminator series

The Spiderman movies

The Simpsons (we watch every week, so that's easy)

What else?

Add Mummy, Twister, Jaws, Cat in the Hat, and some Popeye Cartoons and Dudley Do Right if you can find them.

Not knowing their ages...here are some that may be useful in the parks...

Shrek
Jimmy Neutron
Popeye
Dudley Do-Right
X-men
Sinbad
Twister
Beetlejuice
Hulk
Blues Brothers
Mummy
I Love Lucy

Thank you!

My kids are 12 and 14 - they can watch everything we watch and they're willing to try anything once. They're keen on anything that's "vintage". (Meaning it was new when I was their age - :rotfl2:)

I wonder where I can find some I Love Lucy? Tracking these shows down will be fun!

Is there still anything E. T. related in the parks? I thought the ride was long gone.

about I Love Lucy..... Do u have Halmark Channel and TV Land? i Have seen I Love Lucy just recently on both channels. YOu could also go to theHallmark Channel website and probably get to see the show on there.

Really! What's there? :)
The ride is gone, correct? The one where you sat on a bike and flew.

Boy I have a lot of homework to do before our trip.

Thats the ET Ride and it is located towards the back of the lot. Near the Woody Woodpecker rollercoaster and the animal actors live show.:lovestruc

Get out!!!
I had no idea. Heard it was gone from CA and was so disgusted with US that we haven't gone in years (and have never been in Orlando). I'm not sure if I'm more excited for the E.T. ride or the HArry Potter stuff!

Wait, I know I'm more excited for the E.T. ride.

I love the ET ride. I hope they don't remove it.

As far as movies to go with rides I think you have that covered with your ideas and other posts. (Jaws, Jurassic Park, Shrek, MIB, Simpsons, Twister, Hulk, Popeye, and of course HP). However the first several characters we encountered were Lucille Ball, Betty Boop, Marilyn Monroe (with bodyguard) and Doc from Back to the Future. My kids had no idea who any of these characters were but DH and I enjoyed seeing them!
Love that other people do "homework" too before visiting the parks

My husband would love too meet Marilyn Monroe!

Well, it looks like this is definitely going to be an educational trip for the kids. They need to learn about these cultural icons! :thumbsup2

Besides, "spot the characters" will make up for the fact that we had to drop most of our other plans in order to cover of cost of staying on-site. ("We're not going to the Kennedy Space Center?" asked my son, disappointed. "No, but we can pool hop and apparently there's Dive-in movies." So after that he was happy again.)

That is exactly how we felt  Maybe you could add Some Like it Hot or The 7 yr Itch to your list :lmao: DH appreciated the fact that she was in her white dress with bright red lipstick. :cutie:

We rode the ET ride in October.

There were also a lot of Marvel superheros that we didn't know

Starting to do our homework... Sinbad? Something like the Dreamworks Movie "Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas" -- I don't even remember that movie coming out.

BTW, you can google Dudley Do Right and find video clips online.
