For all you animal lovers, a question, what makes a dog want to sleep in your lap? Every dog I have ever had has always loved to sleep in my lap or beside me. My beagle use to wait for me to sit down just so she could crawl up in my lap and she weighted 60 pounds
The dog I have now weights 12 pounds and could care less about laying in my lap or even beside me. He is full of play and very loving but whenever it comes to sleeping he will look for any place other then someone to sleep on.
It just makes me wonder why some dogs are lap dogs and not others, my sister has a lab that loves to lay all over you and sleep and my little pooch won't sit still long enough for more than a back rub?

I think it is 25 or under or least that was part of the rule at the condo we lived at at. 25# or under "lap" dogs were ok.
