My DH travels for business and currently uses a TravelPro and it is on its last legs. The handle doesn't go all the way up and two of the zippers are broken. Most months he travels every single week, so it gets a LOT of use. He usually carries on his bag but will sometimes check it when we travel for pleasure. We have owned Travelpros for over 15 years, but I don't think his current Travelpro really held up to the rigors of his style of travel. I *think* it's only about 3-4 years old.

Does anyone have any recommendations? I don't want to spend a fortune on a new bag ... I'd like to keep it under $200 if possible.

My dh is a road warrior and loves his Briggs and Riley bag. It's held up very well, only had to be replaced when a Hertz van accidently ran over it (and even then, the contents of the bag were fine). The bag also comes with a lifetime repair warranty.

Another option perhaps....(it would be less money) the Kirkland carry-on at Costco. It's supposed to be good, my BIL likes it.

I bought a 21" Samsonite carry (wheels and handle) on at Costco before my Disney trip. It is a nice bag. It was on sale at Kohl's (isn't everything) plus I had 30% off so I think I paid about $60 for it. It is good quality.

I recently bought a 21" carry on (wheels and handle also) from Costco. They had a coupon and I got it for $34.99. It's fine, it works, but it is not NEARLY as nice as the Samsonite. Not even close.

I read on Flyertalk that Costco no longer carries the Kirkland bag and that it's getting really hard to find. Too bad, since everyone seemed to like it a lot and it was pretty cheap. I might visit my local Costco and see if they have any in stock ... I've always wanted to visit anyway :).

I'll check out the Brigs and Riley. Overstock has the Travelpro 19" Platinum 5 for $99 and they have their "Worry Free" Warranty which covers breakage.

I second Brigs and Riley. It is $ but lasts. We have the garment bag and it works great for a couple of suits. No pressing required.

My DS travels for business and he got a great bag at Jos A Banks - watch for a sale!

We are big fans of Samsonite spinners.
