I know this is a personal question but what loop do you prefer and why?? I am staying at a cabin for the first time with my 3 small boys and I'd of course like it to be really magical. They have never camped but are WDW vets. We have stayed in most of the on site resorts. The boys have been dying to stay at FW Cabins. They would really love an RV but alas not this trip. I'll be renting a golf cart so that should tickle them silly. Any must do's?? TIA

Hi and welcome to the camping board!:goodvibes

We camp and have never stayed in a cabin but our favorite camping loops are 100 and 400(non pet loops for us!);) . There are a couple of cabins in 100 but are very hard to come by...just put the request on your ressie and ask at check in but don't hold your breath! You can get them you just have to be REALLY lucky!:thumbsup2

The things we look for in loops are sites close to the bus stop and the marina but now that they have changed the bus system I think that does not matter as much to us. You have to take a bus to the entrance now for everything except MK so I would want a cabin close to that. Look at the map on the DISboards and see which one in close to the entrance. BUT, If you have a golf cart I don't think it really matters what loop you are in as far as convience goes. Maybe some cabin people can tell you which loops they like best and for what reasons..........popcorn::

We love WDW and The Fort but spend most of our time in the parks. Everything in the campground cost extra(trail ride, watercraft, wagon rides, hoop de doo, etc...) and we are AP holders and go to get the most out of them, not spend money at the fort on things we can do at home(we are close to the lake and mountains!). We don't rent a Golf Cart...can't see the need for the expense since the internal bus system takes us everywhere we need to go or we can walk, but have heard they are handy for some people.

Good luck planning your trip!:)

Stayed in the cabins twice this summer with my big family (four kids and DS 21 girlfriend along too). We have been in the 2800 loop and the 2200 loop and I much prefer the 2200 loop as it is closer to the center of the Fort and within walking distance to everything (impt. to us as we don't do the golf cart rental). We liked the proximity of the cabins to the Outpost as this is where the majority of buses depart for the parks. I thought the 2200 loop seemed less cleared out than the 2800 loop of cabins (underbrush still largely intact on the 2200 loop). That being said, the appliances in the 2800 cabin were newer than in the 2200 one. Hope that helps some.
