What lens would you rent?

I am sure this has been discussed, but my search couldn't find the answer.

On our next trip to disney world if you could rent any lens and only that lens what would it be?

My preference is taking pictures of parades, people, fireworks and or course ride pictures.

Something that works in both day and night/dark rides.

There's a reason people carry around several lenses on a trip. No one lens works in all situations. You described a wide variety of settings. You'll have to decide what is most important to you. Also, what kid of camera do you have?

I have a Canon T2i and my Canon 17-55 f/2.8 is on my camera 95% of the time. I swap out to my Sigma 30mm f/1.4 for dark rides and my Sigma 50-150 f/2.8 for the Safari and for shows in the parks.

But if I had to go with one, it would be the Canon lens. It's fast, sharp and fits my needs *most* of the time.

The first question, is what camera do you have, as it affects lens selection.

Second, while there may be some good choices to cover most situations, there is no good catch-ALL lens.

Particularly for dark rides, you'd want a fast prime-- ideally something like 35/1.4. Perfect for dark rides, not ideal for all your other pictures.

I have a canon t2i with the 24-50 kit lens and 55-250 kit lens

I might go wih the Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L.

Agree on the canon efs 17-55 2.8 and canon 35mm f2is since those will balance nice on your camera. Consider renting a 270ex ii for flash since at least you can bounce it a little. For reach you can rent the 70-300mm l but it may be a little front heavy.

I agree but he should be ready for the big increase in weight compared to his present lens. I just went from the 17-55 to the 24-70 version 2 and even this was a jump in weight for me.
