What lens(es) to rent for long weekend trip.

I'm thinking about renting a lens or two for our upcoming long weekend in DC. I would like to rent a lens that I am considering buying sometime in the future to try them out. I'm thinking of the Nikon 10.5 fisheye and/or the Tokina 11-16, but was wondering if it's a little redundant to rent both of those at the same time. I know, I know...two very different lenses, just wanted some thoughts.

I just got a 10.5 fisheye only bc I found a deal I couldnt pass up on Craigslist and I have to say its a fun lens to have. Here is one shot right from the camera no PP from the airplane on my recent trip to Ft. Bragg.

Here is another from inside the chapel after my nephews memorial service. I was standing almost up to the railing you see in the lower forground. I love the effect of the 180 degrees of perspective.

The two wide angles might be a little redundant to rent both but then you would have an idea of which you would get more use from when it comes time to purchase one. I was going to go for the Nikon 12-24 before I came across the 10.5.

I really don't want to bring too many lenses just for a weekend trip---just figured it might be the only time before WDW I could justify the price of renting them to DH.

There is a plug in available for PS that can straighten those fisheyes that you want to look more normal. You can see what it does here http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/fisheye-hemi.htm Maybe that might influence your decision a little if you have the option to leave the fisheye look or to straighten the image to look more "normal". I know there is a fairly inexpensive program (whose name escapes me at the moment) that will achieve the same results. The guy I bought lens from emailed me the info on the program... I could probably find it if you are interested.

I am thinking I'd have to put in my order relatively soon as we are going the first weekend of April and just want to make sure I don't go overboard renting lenses I won't want to carry. We won't be making pit-stops mid-day at the hotel so I will be carrying everything I bring all day long. Now that I say it like that...maybe one will be plenty to rent!!!

I would rather leave them fishy looking too!! But I may have to look into the plug in for Photoshop just to see what I can do with it. I think if you do rent the 10.5mm you will like it. I havent gotten to use it very much yet but the few pics I have snapped with it I am a fan for sure.

thinking you have a 1.6 crop camera so if you crop the photo you lose a lot of the fish effect. haven't tried it but i think you probably could then straighten it enough to have it not noticeably fishy. however you can't get fish eye from just the wide. ( i have the tokina 10-17 fisheye which is pretty good, has some chromation but i think most utlra wides do)
