What kind of wildlife do you have around your home?

The usual northeast suspects- deer, coyotes, fox, wild turkeys, possums, porcupines, etc. I guess bear and moose are possible, though that's really not normal in this area of the state. This summer, we had some whales (or one with multiple sightings?), and we have tons of clams and lobster and seagulls.

I think everyone mentioned the big ones: deer, coyotes, foxes, rabbit, squirrels (had an albino one), chipmunks, raccoons, moles, opossums, mice, birds, snakes (see a lot of garter & milk). We have woods and creek behind our house, so we have frogs and turtles too.

My favorite is a box turtle that goes around our house every spring/summer and digs a hole to rest in our landscape bed. He was late this year and I was worried he died, but he showed up! :goodvibes

Your post made me forget to mention that we have great white sharks in the waters around cape cod. I suppose that's only appropriate as Jaws was filmed here.

Lots of deer, squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits, mice, turkeys, owls and other birds. Definitely around, but less seen are raccoons, opossums, foxes, coyotes. There is the occasional bear, bobcat, and moose sighting.

We also had an Eland antelope running around for a few weeks earlier this year after it escaped from a local zoo.

I forgot about them! We even had a juvenile great white up here on the southern Maine coast pretty recently.

My wife was taking out the dog last night and had the scheiß scared out of her when a black bear casually walked up our driveway towards our barn. It passed about 2 feet from her. The dog briefly growled and the bear ran off.

So what kind of interesting wildlife do you have where you live?

I live in Massachusetts and in addition to bears we have moose (along with all of the other normal critters like squirrels).
Wow! Now I know why we moved from Massachusetts. Biggest thing we had was deer in our back yard because we were next to conservation land.
Now we get armadillos, the occasional Hawk, raccoons, and lots of birds (including parrots). Oh-and feral cats.

Western part of the state? I'm also in Massachusetts (just outside of Boston). Outside of the norm, I think the wildest thing I've seen around here are turkeys. I actually saw a trio of them one morning right outside of the Copley Place mall. It looked like they may have been planning a girl's shopping day. *LOL*

They may have, that's a nice mall! Yes, I'm in the pioneer valley and several of the towns out here have been dealing with some bear issues. You also have some really ballsy deer out there. I was once driving through a neighbourhood in Newton Lower Falls and came around a curve almost plugging 3 deer in the process. They stared me down as if to say "***?" and then ran off. I've too encountered turkeys in Natick, also near the mall. You must have some stylish f'n turkeys in metro west.

We are in St Paul, in between 3 busy streets, and we have coyote, Fox, deer (big bucks, babies, etc), raccoons, turkeys, lots of birds.

Neighbor has a game cam set up to see right along our property lines and the menagerie of wildlife is truly impressive!

I don't even see that much up at our cabin in the Northwoods

They cause a bit of a traffic jam on Dartmouth Street as all the pedestrians just stopped in the middle of the street to stare at them. I'll admit, I did pull out my phone to take a pic of them. I'm not sure about turkeys in metro west since I don't get out that way much, but they're very full of attitude in and just outside of Boston.

The typical stuff found in many suburbs. Obviously raccoons, skunks, squirrels, birds, deer (black-tailed mule deer), mice, snakes, etc. It's not that easy to specify everything.

I guess the more interesting would be coyotes, bobcats, raptors (hawks, eagles, owls), and the occasional mountain lion. We certainly have turkeys, but apparently they're not native but naturalized from animals brought in for hunting. But apparently they thrive here because all the acorns.

We are also in MA and have conservation land on two sides so we see quite a bit of wildlife but I’ve never seen a live bear in the area ! We have the usual deer, pesky raccoons , skunk, fox, coyote , a million rabbits, possum etc but after 34 years in this house I never knew we had flying squirrels until we caught them on camera!

I was surprised how many people were in the water just behind the sign with a picture of a great white on it! Nope.

The turkeys are getting very aggressive ! They came at you when you go for a walk.
