i'm so tired of spending so much money on drinking water, but our tap water tastes gross. with 7 people living in my house we go through A LOT of water!
i've been thinking of a filter that either goes on the faucet, or the kind in a pitcher.
so, what do you all use? any suggestions? :confused3
TIA!!

We have a reverse osmosis system in the kitchen so we drink that. In our old town EVERYONE had those because the tap water was horrible. This house came with one so we just use that but the tap water is fine. We don't buy water to drink on a daily basis.

We use the 1.5 gallon Brita container. My son loves water and it has a spigot so that he can get his own water without making a mess.

We purchased a water cooler a few years ago, and now just get the bottles delivered every 2 weeks. We have those stainless water bottles that keep the water cold for quite a while.

I can call and request the 16 oz water bottles be delivered when I need them, which is usually just if we are going on a road trip, or I need them for girl scouts snack.

Poland Spring - 5 gallon jugs delivered monthly. We have well water that is perfectly safe to drink, but it has a slight taste...

Tap water, preferably without chunks floating in it. The same place where most of your expensive bottled stuff comes from.

I agree with purchased water in the event that your water has a discernible unpleasant taste or where you are unsure of the quality.

yeah, i can't afford anything that expensive right now!

does the water taste good?
i'm still debating wether to continue buying these stupid jugs of water, or a filter like the Brita. i'd probably spend a fortune replacing filters.....

I usually drink tap water, because mine is fine. Sometimes I squeeze lemon or lime into it.

My favorite water is Smart Water. That's what I drink when I go someplace and don't want to have to worry about bringing my water bottle home with me. It just tastes... idk.... smooth. I would drink it all the time, but can't justify doing so when my tap water is fine.

I also like Metromint, but it's expensive and I don't know that it has the same thirst-quenching quality as regular water. The peppermint kick makes me happy though!!

I know how you feel...

In addition to tasting gross, it is probably full of added toxins like flouride, aluminum, chlorine, etc... etc... etc...

Yes, water can be expensive...
And don't even get me started on the whole 'green' crap.
Sorry, but I am more concerned with what goes into my body than I am what might go into the landfill.
(and, yes, we DO recycle)

We buy the more affordable gallons of spring water, and keep a large container filled and ready for use.

We also buy bottles of spring water... Not the most expensive ones... stock up when they are on sale, etc...

There is just no way that I am putting tap water into my body.
Even a 'filter' isn't enough....

If TPTB want us to drink tap water, then they should be giving us tap water that is not toxic.

I have a Brita Pitcher and I also buy the cases or Target water. Our water is SO gross, it leaves pink stains all over everything and reeks of chlorine. Ugh.

I wish we had a reverse osmosis system, I love RO water, it just tastes better.

You can rent a system. Around here they are only about $10/month-a lot less then buying water/filters.

Im a britta girl. I bought my filter when sears clearanced out a bunch of them. I bought a bunch of dasini bottles of water and then wash and reuse them (filled with filtered water). It works well.

We use the Brita as well. Works well for us.

Guess soon I'll have a neon haze around me because I drink filtered water from my fridge door. Tastes great! :thumbsup2

My favorite is our good ol' tap water. Delicious Detroit City water! :thumbsup2 I am serious... it tastes really good. ::yes::

That is the same thing as using a Brita, reverse osmosis, etc.

well i guess this settles it. i'm going to target to get a Brita pitcher!
thanks everyone!!

Another vote that Brita is a great idea! Our water here tastes and smells very strongly of chlorine when it's warm outside, so I bought a Brita filter to deal with that. I like the taste of our Brita water better than a lot of bottled water! And you can almost always find great deals on the filters on Amazon.

We just bought a house and the fridge that we've ordered for it has a Pur water system in the door - I'm very excited to have good tasting water without having to remember to refill the pitcher!

Good! :thumbsup2 I'd read up on it and it sounded as though my filtered water was "clean" but I'd been led to believe recently that I was kidding myself.
