What kind of sunblock lotion do you use?

What kind of sunblock lotion do you use? I use Aveeno for my face, but have always used Coppertone baby for the rest of me. I like the scent and it has never caused an allergic reaction or allowed me to get burned. :scared1:I was thinking of getting the Aveeno sunblock lotion for all over - anybody use that? What brand do you use? :cutie:

I use the Target brand lotion and spray. The spray is the best I've used. We go through a ton of sunblock here in TX and the Target brand works great without breaking the bank like some of the other brands. It smells nice, too, and does the job. No sunburns in 2 summers so far for any of us!

I use a special kind for my face - I like the Neutrogena baby stick or I think it's Eucerin, but for the rest of my body I use whatever is on sale or I have a coupon for (I just got 2 Target things with TONS of sunscreen coupons in both).

I didn't like the smell of the Target brand.

I've had basal cells removed so I am RELIGIOUS about sunscreen and find that as long as I reapply regularly and make sure I actually get everywhere then everything seems to work all right.

I use Aveeno for an all over sunblock and I love it! Aveeno has various formulas including a baby formula.

We usually use store brands (CVS, Target, etc.) Never had a problem with any of them. We always buy the spray because I can't stand the feeling of the lotion on my hands. We bought some Banana Boat at Costco too that we use on our face. The only sunscreen that I have ever had a problem with was Neutrogena. I didn't break out, but it made my face feel like it was burning.

We have sensitive skin so we use Bull Frog. They make a stick that works well for the face and we like the sport spray. It even works upside down. No sunburns or allergic reactions here. :)

Another vote for Bullfrog. The summers in Texas are contantly 100+ and this is the only sunscreen that prevents sunburn on my lifeguard daughter.:thumbsup2

For daily use DH and I both use Aveeno Ultra Calming moisturizing lotion with SPF 30 but for all-day sun outings we use Neutrogena Ultimate Sport SPF 70 for our bodies and their Ultimate Sport Face SPF 70 for our face. We much prefer the tube lotion over their sprays.

I am ghostly white and love the Aldi waterproof sunblock-3.99 and has UVA/UVB protection. Smells like Coppertone.

I use Bare Minerals foundation. It has SPF and I never burn even though I don't use any extra sunscreen. If I forget sunblock, I burn everywhere but my face so I know it's working.

I am also pigment-challenged or as one of my co-workers once pointed out "whiter than copy paper". What can I say, I come from Nordic people.

The very best sunblock is not available in USA, so I bootleg it in from Canada when I am in Detroit. It is made by Loreal and called Umbrella. It has never been sold in USA because they don't want to spend the money to get FDA approval. I use it on my face and body.

Before I found Umbrella I used SPF 75+ kids sunblock which was disgusting to apply. My husband affectionately termed it "sweater in a tube".

We use Blue Lizard on the face and No Ad for the body. DD is still fairly pale, even though she's pretty much lived at the pool and/or beach for the last few weeks.

Im fair skined (with freckles everywhere) and I love Aveeno it works the best for me, I even got DD the baby formula in case she had skin like me(good thing tho, she got her Dad's skintone) before Aveeno my favorite Sunscreen was Coppertone Spectra3 that stuff was amazing but I havent seen it anymore so Aveeno is the next best thing (still great).

I came across an article last month that talked about the best sunscreens. It actually showed Target as being the best. So I am going to try it when we use up our coppertone.

I used any old thing for years. But the last 2 summers and our last Disney trip I started getting hives in the sun. Large red welts all over my chest and arms.:sad2:

They don't itch.. they're just ugly. I don't know if it's sunscreen or the sun itself. I suspect the sun actually becuase they get smaller and almost go away after a few hours indoors.. but it's hard to say because they also have occurred on days that I use sunscreen. I don't bother with it if I am out running errands or something, but for a day doing yardwork or in the Disney Parks I do.
So.. all that to say I bought L'oreal Ombrelle yesterday. Not cheap by any means.. but it is hypo allergenic and dye and fragrance free. We'll see if it helps.

ETA) I just realized something as I hit send. I never get them on my face. And I don't put sunscreen on my face! I have a very gentle moisturizer that is SPF 25 that I use for my face. I'll bet it is the sunscreen I was using afterall!

I have very sensitive skin and if I use higher than 30 sunscreen I get a rash. Doesn't seem to matter what brand or if it's hypoallergenic.

For my face I love Shiseido I get it from Sephora and I know its pricey, BUT I am fair skinned redhead that lives in Florida at the beach. I have to take care of myself if I want to continue to enjoy the beach.

For my body I use neutrogena spectrum. I apply a base coat with a lotion then for the rest of the day I use a spray as a touch up.

My daughter loves the wet/dry neutrogena, fortunately for her she has the hubs skin so she is brown as Thanksgiving turkey even with sunscreen.

We use what comes in the orange can, is that coppertone?

It stinks like aquanet, but I never burn. If I am in the US I use 30, if in the Caribbean then I bump it up to the next level, I think it is 50.

I stopped using lotion when I missed a spot on my back to the left of my left strap. I burned so bad I scarred from it. So now I hold my breath and spray the aquanet...errr...coppertone.

The coppertone kids spray one. I have to use a high spf because I'm fair and that one is really easy to spray on my back when no one is around to help me.

I buy Ocean Potion at Walmart. My cousin worked for a dermatologist while going through nursing school, and that's what he recommended. Our family is also "pigment challenged" - Irish - and my grandmother, my mom, and both her sisters have had skin cancer. DH is German and our kids are white, white, white!! We used the Ocean Potion for the first time while on the Disney Cruise, and not a spot of burn. For our faces, I use my L'oreal Moisturizer which has an SPF (can't remember the number).
