Ok, I originally thought sneakers because of all the walking BUT a friend of mine who's been there suggested sandals. I've heard alot about CROCS but they don't look comfortable.... What can all of you veterans suggest?
I've never been to Disney, my first time along with my triplets!

Thanks!

Crocs are actually so comfortable my DH now wears them to the office each day ;) His are navy blue so subdued and OK for his office job at a liberal touchy feely place. The only complaint I hear from people who wear them is how ugly they look but I've gotten used to that. I don't know if I've ever heard anyone say they are uncomfortable and for me they sure are like wearing slippers but with a soft arch.

OTOH I want some sandals so tomorrow I will go try on Teva Pretty Rugged Leathers to see if they'll work. I've heard good things about them but haven't worn them before. Have worn crocs for about 4 years.

I'll keep checking on this thread because I'm always looking for additional comfortable shoes.

Good luck.

Crocs are GREAT!! Comfortable is an understatement. They are not the "best looking" shoes but they do wonders for preventing sore feet.

I wear mine with "mini socks" (barely cover the foot and don't show above the shoe line) as to not get "sweaty" feet.

Just go to a store and try on a pair of Crocs and you will be sold!! :)

My other favorite pair of Disney day shoes is a pair of Nike Air slip ons. Lots of support...very good cushioning. I love them. I wear these with ankle socks.

My husband likes to wear Teva sandals or Nike Air cross trainers.

My boys wear assorted strap on sandals and their favorites...Crocs.

One last reason why Crocs are so great is that they have straps that you can wear behind your ankles if you want (or just flip them up if you like that better) but when you are riding rides with dangling legs or entering/exiting rides it's great to have that back strap to keep your shoes on your feet. :)

Never tried crocs so I can't vouch for them. I take nice comfy broken in sneakers and Body Glide and I have no problems! :thumbsup2

Quick question.....Are the croc version at Payless comparable to the crocs? Never tried the croc brand but bought the fun swirls at Payless.
Also, I love my birkenstock sandels for Disney. Very comfortable and feet never get sore. Thanks for the croc post and info. :thumbsup2

I know most people wear crocs or sneaker but I am a die hard flip flopper! I of course would walk barefoot if I could! (much to the horror of fellow dissers I am sure! :rotfl2: ) I personally would take sneakers and either flip flops or sandals. This way you could trade off. princess:

I too thought Crocs were the ugliest shoes I have ever seen & swore I would never buy them. :sad2: Well lo & behold I am a "True Believer" in Crocs. They are the most comfortable shoe I have ever tried on. I actually own 2 pairs & cannot wait to use them at WDW. My DD loves hers too, she wears them every day!! Try them, I'm sure you'll love them!!! :thumbsup2

Crocs with Socks
Is What You Should Wear!

If you are embarrassed by the bold color, get a pair of the more muted color like brown, tan, white, etc.

I have Crocs but don't find them to be comfortable enough for a whole day at Disney. I wear sneakers with coolmax socks and Bodyglide. Never had a blister.

I bough a pair of Keen sandals and they are sooo comfy!
I highly recommend them..
I also have Wolverine sandals and they are awesome to .. never even got a blister last summer on my trip! :cool1:

I don't like to wear sneakers at Disney because of the rides where I get wet or when my kids play in the fountains. I prefer to wear a good pair of hiking sandals. I have a pair of Nike that I really like :) .

I have a pair of Crocs and a pair of Keens and a pair of Tevas, plus my New Balance walking shoes. I'm bringing all of them. My Crocs give me sore spots on the inside part of my upper foot, so I know a day of them will not work. The New Balance shoes won't work for water rides. The Keens (Newports) are slip on, so they won't work for "up in the air" rides. The Tevas -- well, they are great, but sometimes the strap gives me a sore spot on my foot.

I have Teva flip flops in 5 different colors and I will take them all!!! I also have Teva sandals and will take them. Sneakers are my last choice because of heat and when they get wet I am miserable. :confused3

I bought two pair of the beach crocs and love them. I also bought a pair of the Niles (sandals) and wore them all day today but they wore a bit of a blister on the top of the foot. Will have to try body glide with them. I also have a pair of Teva Dozers and love them too.

Re: the ones that give your sore spots, have you tried Body Glide? I've only used it once but man o man it was nice. No rubbing or sticking, yet not slimy at all.

What is Body Glide? Is this something to help you not get blisters? If so, where can I get it! I have sensitive feet and tend to get blisters. I love my Airwalks (Payless version of Crocs), but on the top of my foot I can tell if I wore them all day I would get a blister.

Tell me more about Body Glide!
Thanks!
DJ

**********Upon further searching, I answered my own question. Never heard of this stuff. They don't seem to have it in my town (according to the website, and most stores are closed today, so I can't check). Sounds worth a shot if I can get somewhere that has it. Thanks mentioning it! I learned something new!

You can probably get it online at drugstore dot com or walgreens or rei dot com or some such. It's pretty inexpensive.

I bought a new pair of Keds a few weeks ago with the plan to break them in but the make my big preggo feet hurt! So I am going with my Tevas and some slide on sandals with stretchy tops. The Tevas have backpacked with me so I know they will be good for the parks and the other shoes are about as dressy as I am going to get! If I can't see my feet past my belly then I don't care what anybody else thinks of my feet! (Although I did get a pedicure just for the trip! :thumbsup2 )

My mom and I wore the Payless version Sept. 05 and for the first time did not have tired feet. :cool1: I had the Birkenstock style, hers were the clogs. Jan. 06 I wore the clogs with socks. I love them :goodvibes :thumbsup2 They're also great in the rain and at the pool and water parks. No need to pack a pair of water shoes. :teeth:

I bought a pair of genuine Crocs a few months ago but, for me, the Airwalks (Payless) feel better. The Crocs rub on the top of my foot and I don't like the bumps as well, they're more pronounced.

I've worn my Airwalks so much now that they're getting less squishy. I'm just waiting for them to arrive at my local Payless. Last year (Aug.) when we were looking for them they were on clearance and BYGO 1/2 off! They were marked down to $4 which made them $6 for two pair. Unfortunately, the stock was limited and we only found 4 pairs for us (2 clogs, 2 sandals-all black) and picked up a pair for my sister in red. She uses them gardening-she thinks they're ugly-yes-but so comfortable. :cool1:

Of course, now that I have them, I notice how many other people do, and several people have come up to me and put their foot (with Crocs) next to mine and said-"I just love my Crocs-don't you?"
