lately i have been listening to a lot of rap and hip hop.
like MF DOOM, a tribe called quest, atmosphere, nujabes, del tha funkee homosapien and RJD2
(also i recommend all of this music to you guys, its really great. especially a tribe called quest, best hip hop group ever IMHO)

i've also been really into this noise pop duo sleigh bells. they've got a really cool unique sound.

i like to think i have a very open mind when it comes to music. i listen to a little of everything. i really cant stand it when people rule out an entire genre of music just because they dislike the particular bands they've heard. ie: i hate country music, i hate rap music, i hate blahblahblah~

so what kind of music do you like?
who is your favorite singer/band/group?
what have you been listening to a lot lately?

folk-pop is my favourite. i pretty much am in love with every artist from brushfire records. jack johnson, ben harper (L), matt costa, donovan frankenreiter, mason jennings, zee avi and zach gill are all really good!
i also really love tracy chapman :lovestruc

i like a lot of old music, i love 1940s music like vera lynn, helen forrest, artie shaw, glenn miller all that kind of stuff, as well as a lot of 60's pop music like the partridge family and the archies :cutie: i LOVE elvis and johnny cash.

i like hip hop as well, my absolute favourite hip-hop artist is this guy from toronto called K-Os...i don't know if he's known in the US, but he's amazing. He has this song called 'i wish i knew natalie portman' and i could listen to it all day.

i work at a store that cells music & movies, so i get to listen to a LOT of different types of music. i don't really dislike much, except i'm really not a fan of metal. but yeah, my favourite type of music to listen to is probably folk-pop. :thumbsup2

I have...ahem...interesting tastes in music... ;)

I like Oldies & Soft Rock, (Billy Joel, Celine Dion, Frank Sinatra, The Carpenters, etc.) mostly because it's what my parents raised me on. I actually listen to very few songs that came out since 2000.

I LOVE Soundtrack music, especially Disney. It's definetly a release for me, a chance to believe in dreaming again...

I also love Japanese songs as well. Can't understand a word of it, but it's a beautiful language. :lovestruc

I listen to everything.

My favorite right now is singer/songwriter (which is basically everyone that Caitlin listed as Folk Pop) I have way too many people I love in that genre to list..haha, but I'd have to say my current obsession is Joshua Radin.

Another favorite is country, mostly because the songs are so honest and I can relate to so many of them.

Then I am also listening to a lot of pop music, like Kesha, Lady Gaga, etc. I think that music is just fun to crank up and jam to.

Then my oldies, which go back all the way to the 20s and stop mid 70s. That music is just so unique and amazing. I can't get enough.

And finally, I have a bunch of international stuff on my ipod too. Like German polka music, French pop, and African tribal music. Love it all.

The only music that I won't listen to is opera, screamo, and hardcore rap stuff. It just irritates me. Now, there are a few artists or songs from those genres that I do like, but overall I just can't handle most of it.

I don't really pay attention to the genre. Most of the artists I listen to their genres are power pop, jazz, rock (not hardcore rock more like soft rock), indie, r&b, pop, and musicals. I like soundtrack music quite a bit too. I have soundtracks from Gladiator, POTC, Narnia, National Treasure, Harry Potter (favorite album as a whole for sure), and a few others.

My favorite artists are Ben Rector, Eric Hutchinson, Imogen Heap, Carbon Leaf, and Michael Buble. I've been listening to Ben Rector a lot lately, his music is my absolute favorite. It's really soothing and comforting.

I pretty much listen to everything but screamo and hardcore rock. I'm not a fan of too much rap either.

i've been listening to a little jack johnson lately. i'm seeing him and G-Love on the 16th (:

i also really like K-OS! i started listening to him back when sunday morning was popular. like back in 06? i haven't listened to him in awhile, but i think hes awesome!

i love french pop music!~
i have alizee, yelle, bb brunes and les shades on my ipod.

i actually do listen to a little opera. theres this one opera song that plays in vegas during the fountain show outside of the bellagio, and its so so so pretty (: i have to stop everytime i walk by it and listen :goodvibes:goodvibes

duuudee yess i love soundtracks.
i love the soundtrack to the 2003 peter pan. its so magical sounding (:
i also really like the song from requiem for a dream, lux aeterna.
and the entire moulin rouge soundtrack is awesome

I listen to songs that have meanings...i dont really pay attention to the genre. Usually on the radio is whatever "new" songs are out aka r&b. But i really like 'love' songs :)
Anything like; R.O.A.R, NeverShoutNever, Michael Buble..yeah =]

I like almost all genres. I'm not really crazy over classical, or music without words...
But I love love love country, it's probably in my number two spot after the different forms of rock. I also love musical songs, they make me happy because I can act out the characters while singing along. And of course I like pop well enough.

Lately I've been enjoying Hedley's newest (it's not really new anymore) album The Show Must Go. My favorite song on there has to be Friends, followed by Goodbye and then the Sweater Song. They're a rock band, but they're all over the place. They switch from piano, to acoustics to the normal instruments a band would have and then randomly have a song with a lot of computer made music.

I'd say Billy Joel is my all time favorite singer. EVER. Hands down.
Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz and John Mayer are my favorites to listen to, but don't listen to often.

If I had to pick a favorite mainstream radio singer... definitely Katy Perry.

Oh & I love Hank Green's music. Or a nice random nerdy parody on youtube.

I listen to a lot of different types of music.
I love Britpop (Oasis, Blur, Manics.. etc.), Alternative, Acoustic-y mellow stuff and Rock and most of it's sub-genres.
I listen to country and some oldies as well sometimes. (:
My favourite artist is either Bruce Springsteen or Billy Joel..
My favourite bands are Stereophonics, Manic Street Preachers, The Beatles, One Republic, The Fray.. yeah.
One song I really like that I usually wouldn't is She Said by Plan B. Anything by him is amazing, though, and I usually wouldn't listen to his kind of stuff.

I listen to different types of music...
I like Pop music (Jonas Brothers, sometimes Selena Gomez)
I really like Country music, but then again, in the South, practically everyone loves Country music (;
Those would be my top two

he opened up for Jason Mraz once and that was one of the things he sold and everyone I was with cracked up. But other than that I dont really like G Love.

Oh and my music taste hasnt changed much...still Jason Mraz, Dave Matthews(who Im seeing in concert soon), Jack Johnson, and that stuff.

My music tastes go from Jonas Brothers to Paramore to Hairspray.

Soundtracks are my favorite type though.

I love listening to musicals. Right now, I love Sherie Rene Scott's musicals. In July, I'm going to see American Idiot (Green Day music), so I'm excited about that. Other than showtunes, I listen to a lot of Disney music and I have some great movie soundtracks on my IPod.

to be honest, I think you got me started on him! lol
I started a thread for indie music and he was one of your recommendations, and from then on I was hooked. Now i have my mom listening to him..lol
But yes, I definitely wanna marry him! lol His voice and his music is PERFECT!!
Him and Josh Kelley are my all time favorites.

I'm like a weird mix when it comes to music. I ADORE showtunes. Like give me the soundtrack for any Broadway show and I will learn it and love it. Favorites include Rent, Wicked, Urinetown, and Godspell.

Then there is the other side, the one that one of my friends sort of created. I had never listened to old rock/blues/anything that I saw as "old" before and he flipped out at this fact and gave me a ton of that kind of music. Now I love the Beatles, The Who, Bob Dylan, and Eric Clapton (who I've been listening to like non-stop for the past few days).
