What kind of laundry detergent do you bring when flying?

OK,

This is my first time in a 1BR DVC. We are at Boardwalk. We're staying 2 full weeks, switching over to a Saratoga studio for the second week. So, I need to do laundry at Boardwalk. I've never flown with laundry detergent before. Does anyone know which is best for that purpose? I'm assuming some type of powder.

Thanks!

We usually wait and buy it on our grocery run after we get down there. We used to buy the laundry tabs, but I haven't been able to find those here anymore.

I bought a travel size bottle of Tide at Target ( in the travel size section) for $1 and was able to get 3 loads out of it and have left overs that I am bringing this weekend. I put it in a ziplock just in case it leaks, but have not had that problem.

Walmart sells something that is good for travel. It is called Dropsies or something like that. I first read about it here, but have not tried it yet. I looked at it in my local Walmart and plan on using it for my trip in April. It looks almost like some type of gel sealed in indivual packets. If you search the boards or Walmart.com I bet you can find better info on it.

That is exactly what we have used. It's called "dropps" and I could have sworn I bought it last year at Target, but I could be wrong. I put them in a small "lock 'n lock" and put that into a ziplock baggie for extra protection in my luggage.

I was at our local Target this last weekend and there were 3 pkg of the dropps on the discounted discontiuned rack. I did not pick them up but just noticed that they are not selling them anymore. I have the owners locker at WDW but am going to HHI this summer (all my stuff is at WDW) was wondering if I put a capful of liquid Tide in a bag with something like a wash cloth/sock to hold the liquid if that would work. One load per bag.

Oh no! I really liked this stuff. It was really convenient. I'll be headed out to the store tomorrow for sure!!!

We have our groceries delivered over the years to us at BWV by WeGoShop. We send them a list of what we want from foods, drinks and laundry stuff, they'll go shop for it, and bring it to you.

I've put Tide powder (not brave enough to try liquid yet! :scared:) in Tupperware and stuck it in my suitcase. Have never had a problem! :thumbsup2

We use Tide Concentrate. Before we go DW gives it to me and I tape around the lid and put it in a Ziploc bag. We have never had a problem all our trips.

We use Shaklee products and I take their powdered detergent to WDW in a double zipper bag. (Now I just keep a supply in our Owners Locker.)

I always bring 2 boxes of powder detergent with me. Once they searched my suitcase and opened the detergent to make sure it wasn't something else. Luckily I had it in a plastic bag so no harm done.

In the past I have taken a bottle of All Small & Mighty Liquid detergent in my luggage, I put it inside of 2 gallon size plastic bags without a problem.

Forgot to mention about the Oxyclean detergent ball. We bought one of those last time, and used it last trip. It was so easy to transport in luggage, and I figure it will last at least 4 more trips.

We bought a few boxs sunlight Tabs before they stopped selling them and only use them for trips when we are going to do laundry.

We do the same thing every trip. We have never had a problem. :thumbsup2

We use Dropps at home and also take them to WDW. We use the scent free version as my wife is very scent sensitive. If your Target doesn't carry them anymore, you can order them directly from their website or at Amazon.com They are easier to travel with than liquid or powder detergent and it's just nice to have the same product on vacation as at home.
