What kind of job do you do from home?

Hi everyone, I just got finish with all the pm's regarding disney dining to everyone who requested it! Hope the info helps and feel free to ask me about any questions you may have.

I'd love to hear more about the disney dining opportunity. could you please pm me? thank you in advance.

I've done all the tests and background check for Arise. They have accepted me into the program. Now I have to decide if I'm going to move forward. Looks to be almost $500 investment before I would train or find out about opportunities.

It just makes me nervous to spend money on this opportunity. Would love to hear about other Arise members.

Hello everyone....... just wanted to post that I am not a travel agent. I keep getting PM's asking me about my travel agent job. :goodvibes I don't mind answering PM's at all....but I work for Idapted. If you want information about this company please feel free to PM me. Their website is www.idapted.com
Also, if I missed you and you didn't get a PM about Idapted..please PM me again. I have tried to weed out the TA PM's from the Idapted ones and I might have missed one or two. I need to DELETE my IN BOX....it is full I think.

Mikmin,

I can't send you a PM. Is your box full?

Any time someone mentions they are a TA they are inundated witih PMs. Some will help you with info others will not. I imagine with all the requests here in this thread along with others who did not mention Pm'ing the box is overflowing.

I also work as a TA specializing in Disney destinations. It is great fun and is NOT really work. I can have the joy of planning Disney vacations without the expense. LOL.

Did you have to shell out @$500 to become one? I signed up for more info with a company and they sent me info back saying if I want to continue that it would around $299 to take the course. Just wondering if you can say who you work for so I know a bona fide company. ;) Thanks!

NO! I did have to pay for my insurance for the 1st year but I meet my sales goals, which were established at time of hiring and listed in my contract, so the company paid for the insurance the other years. I split my commission with the company with the majority going in my pocket. Once I proved that I was doing this as a “job” and not just to support my own Disney habits my commission rate was increased.

Can you tell us how to go about doing this?

I also work from home for Arise, have been doing it for 3yrs now, while its not a get rich quick scheme it does help with additional income since hubby been out of a job since Jan. 2009. I'm currently servicing Disney dining and I really enjoy it pays about $8 per hour.

With three children, 1 in college, I'm always looking for other ways to make additional money.

I would love to find out more about the disney dining! Please PM me with more details....TIA

This is how I got started as a Disney TA.

My memory is a little fuzzy on all the details but this is the basics.
I was planning a trip to Disneyland and did not have anytime to plan and research the trip so I had contacted a few TA that specialized in Disney.
This is how I came across the first company I worked for and I am pretty sure I was referred to them from someone on this board.
I ended up on their mailing list and about a year later noticed they were hiring a couple independent contractors.
I sent them a resume (have a background in travel/tourisim and hotel management) and went through a series of phone interviews.
Got the job, worked out the details of the contract and my out of pocket expense was the cost to be added to their business insurance.
As I mentioned in another post I had to "prove" myself. That was easy. The sales goals were attainable so there was no additional out of pocket expense. Of course I have to maintain my home office but I get claim alot of my expenses on my taxes.

I've read almost the whole thread but missed a part of it so forgive me if this has been mentioned. I would love to work at home but I need to make sure that we somehow have healthcare coverage. Has anyone here had to deal with that?

Ugh! The dreaded healthcare issue.

I am responsible for my own healthcare. I have positioned myself financially that my TA business now covers my healthcare cost. It is costly but I am able to list it as a business expenses on my taxes.
