What kind of documents do I need to fly with the kiddos?

We take DD and a friend on every trip and have never once been asked for ID.

I've never flown with my children before, 2 DD's 5 & 3, but my TA said that starting in January 2007 a passport will be required for everyone, including my girls. I'm not sure if this is because we are Canadians living in Canada but flying from Detroit to Orlando. Just passing along what I was told by my TA. Good luck and enjoy your vacation, I know we will!! :sunny:

I think starting in January, you need a passport to go anywhere out side the US. Canada, Mexico, Bahamas, and any other place that didn't require them before. So if you are from Canada, you will need one. I thought I heard that the US was making some kind of special Canada pass for people on the border that go back and forth all the time. But if US citizens are just traveling in the US, then no need for a passport.

Yes there are new regulations going into affect on 1/1/07 but US Citizens still won't need a passport to travel within the US.

The change is for travel to Canada, South America, Mexico, Bahamas and the Carribean, all destinations you can now visit without a passport. This includes cruises ~

All this going back and forth drove me bonkers. We have a blended family. I just went down to the passport office in May and renewed mine and dh's passport and got passports for all the kids...it was hefty 400 bucks but well worth it..we now have them. If a sale comes up at the last minute for a AI we are good to go!
