What kind of digital cameras do you have?

josanna, I had the same problem with my Kodak. I loved it most of the time, but the delay in taking pictures and the problems in certain lights really irked me. All of them (that I have ever used) are going to have the half-way-down-focus thing, but my new Konica is much faster at this. And it writes to the memory quicker.

With the Kodak, I used some of the manual settings when I was photographing in low light. That helped some.

I have one small Digital camera..it is impressive to me 'cause it was for a small price and it is very easy to use. it only hold 102 pictures but that is enough to keep me going..and if my dad's old camera works,i may get his

I've got a Nikon Coolpix - whichever one came out around November 2004, as we wanted to practice before going to Disney! If you get one with AA or AAA batteries it does make a lump on the camera, which the coolpix doesn't have (although you do have to remember to charge the batter up after a couple of days, especially if you've been doing a lot of zooming). I take all pictures on "fine" (i.e. best available) so if I want to print a large size I don't have a problem with sharpness. I did find a problem with delay but found the best way to remedy that is to shoot on the "action" mode rather than porttrait or landscape (see, reading the manual DOES help! :guilty:)

I'm by no means an expert - look at different models and see what feels right for your hand.

OK, pros...which one?

Canon A710IS or the Canon S3IS? I'm torn and I can't make up my mind! They are both the same price, which isn't helping.

My BIGGEST want is for the stinkin' thing to be ready to take the next photo, like, NOW, and not have to have DDs "pose" their candle blowing out moment all over again.

I have a Kodak Easyshare CX7430. Its 4 megapixels and I love it though I'm looking at getting a new one before we go to Disney again. I also have an older Olympus 2 megapixel camera, but haven't used it in months.

I just bought a Samsung I6 and I hate it. I'm on my way to return it right now.

I have the canon A620. It was given to me as a gift about a year ago. It is my first digital camera and I love it!

Did you purchase a camera yet? I have had my S3 for almost 2 weeks and absolutely love it! Very easy to use. Here is a link to my pics I put on the photography board. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1251752

DH solved the problem. He ordered me a Panasonic Lumix FZ-7 :cool1:

Don't have it yet, but I'm hoping the results are as gorgeous as your photos!

Have fun with it!!!! It is supposed to take some very nice pics from what I have read. And shutter lag shouldn't be a problem. Your DD can blow her candles to her hearts content, no more posing!

I have two cameras, a Fugi S602Z, which I absolutely love and I also have a Sony Cybershot TS1. The Fugi I use all the time as it takes wonderful pictures and I love that I can zoom in on one specific thing. The Sony I use once in awhile. It basically was something I thought I wanted, but ended up not using. It takes real crappy pictures at night, so I never use it then. The camera is a little bigger then a credit card and a little thicker, so it is easy to just throw in my pocket and leave, which I like.

I do love my Fugi though and use it almost everyday. :)

I have a Sony TS1 also...and LOVE it. Although it doesn't take great photos in low light situation....like at night or indoors (at times)...but over all it's great. Very small and simple to use. I took it on our first Disney cruise and found it tood AWESOME photos...(you can take a peek at some of them in my album...below in my sig).

Last year I got a Canon Digital Rebel XT SLR...and LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Although...I would also like to get an external flash...to help with low light situation also.
