I'm just wondering what kind of deals people have found for flights. Either from Toronto or Buffalo to Orlando return?

Myself, I've firmed up flights for 2 adults and 2 children (1 - 4years & 1 -22Months) out of Buffalo return for about $1200US. Our flight dates are Wednesday March 7th & Thursday March 15th, non-stop. Its our first trip down to Disney since the DW and I were small kids.

Just wondering if that's decent or not?

Thanks in advance for your input!

I have been stressing about flights for our July trip. Air Canada was $600 pp for direct flights (for the times I wanted). I grabbed seats on southwest out of Buffalo for $300 pp for almost the same flight times. I'm not too happy about driving to Buffalo 90 minutes away, but we're saving enough to make it worth while. I just hope the prices don't go down, otherwise I'll be so mad at myself for booking so early!:lmao:

We're going in May and I paid just over $800 for three of us out of Buffalo. It's faster and easier for us, not to mention a lot cheaper, to drive to Buffalo and we really like the airport and its parking facility. With non-stop flights, we are able to get to WDW with enough of the day left to enjoy a park and then to leave Orlando for our return trip at a reasonable hour and still get to do some shopping in Buffalo prior to crossing back into Canada. I was holding out for cheaper fares however since they did not seem to be coming, I went ahead a booked for fear the rate would go higher.

So far the most I have paid for RT, nonstop, all taxes incl from BUF was $220 per person. That was last year for March break and we flew on the Tuesday after MB started. I usually have been able to find fares in the $150 range(all in and nonstop).

This year however, it seems that fares are much higher and with little hope of seeing anthing cheaper. The best I've seen for my July trip was the week fares were released into the summer. It was $104 each way plus tax.....worked out to approx $240 RT. Right now it's around $300.....and that's not the non stop. I'm really mad at my self for not booking the week it became available.

For us flying out in September it looks like about $1,100 or $1,200 for the 4 of us. I preferred $700 better! :lmao: I guess those days are gone. :sad1:

I'm basing that on a one-way via Southwest as they don't have the dates we are coming back out yet. Nor have JetBlue released their dates yet. We have not booked yet.

These are also non-stop flights. To be honest, the discount would have to be fairly signficiant for me to consider a change in planes on the way to Orlando!

The prices were higher this year for sure! I got Jetblue last year on New Years Day for $89 down non-stop and Airtran back for $89, from Buffalo.
I watched this year and the prices weren't nearly as good, but I did really luck out! I was able to get Niagara Falls NY for $69 each way non-stop to Sanford/Orlando. With taxes, fees, seat selection and baggage it was just over $800 total for all 4 of us!

We paid $1000 taxes included for three of us for our New Years trip (flying Jetblue from Syracuse to MCO on December 31 and returning January 7th, both direct flights).

For our upcoming August trip, we paid $853 taxes included for three, again from Syracuse and non-stop flights with Jetblue (leaving August 26th and returning September 2).

We also priced Buffalo and Rochester (which are both doable from our location in southeastern Ontario) but Syracuse came out most economical both times.

Toronto was crazy high, as usual. Even a charter flight with Sunwing (which we flew in 2009) was twice the price of Jetblue from Syracuse.

I got a pretty spur of the moment flight last week...for $321 r/t with Westjet for Feb 29--one week. The next day I found another for March for $311 so booked that too! ;)

We're looking at May flights. Southwest is going to run us $550 (2 adults) altogether. We've always flown AC out of Toronto, but their best possible price for the same flight (including baggage fees) would run us $875. It's now worthwhile for us to drive the little bit extra and fly from BUF vs. YYZ.

We booked Airtran out of Buffalo for 2 adults, 3 children for September for $1398 total. Thought that was pretty decent considering to fly from Toronto is $2800 - $3000:scared1: !

Jetblue have a one day sale on today...just saw some good fares even mid March Break. I think you have to travel Tuesdays or Wednesdays...and it goes until early April.

:)

I never thought about flying from Syracuse. It will definitely been in my airport selection for next time. Thanks for the tip!

Thanks for this tip as well. The costs seems to be fairly steep this year. I'm trying to book a rental car as well, i guess because of spring break that those prices seem jacked as well. One of the joys of marring a teacher is, besides the summer, March break is our only real vacation time....

We LOVE the Syracuse airport. Its so small and compact, and so much easier to get around than Pearson. But bear in mind it will be a good hike for you from Toronto......we live in Belleville, and its a 3 hour drive for us (yet in our case, well worth saving $1000).

If you are looking for a rental car, try Expedia.ca. Not sure when your March break falls, but I ran our school board's dates (March 10th to 17th) and a full size car with Budget is $144.06 CDN and includes all taxes and fees, unlimited mileage, and a free extra driver (spouse).

We are flying out of Buffalo with Air Tran, non-stop, March 6-14th for 6 people, $1550, thought this was pretty good for March! My sister in law and niece are meeting us down there from Halifax and cheapest flight for them was $1300 with stops!:scared1:

That is expensive... We fly outta Buffalo to MCO once or twice a year! We book online at the Wanna get away fares... Lowest we paid was $448 for the 3 of us round trip including taxes. The most was $667 ..a few weeks ago we paid $617 for the 3 of us, direct..round trip..taxes in. We usually fly out in January and April.

The key is to watch the flight prices..they tend to go up and down a few times a week. They usually drop historically on a Tuesday morning. For some reason thats when alot of the pricing changes are done.... keep looking for a cheaper flight. If you find one rebook at the lower price

In January we flew Delta from Detroit to Orlando for $220/person

We are flying out of Detroit on Air Tran on April 27th and returning on May 7th. It was $902 for 4 of us. Not as good as 2010, but not horrible.

We're flying out of Toronto March 8-16 on Delta for $1740 (4 people, 2 adults and 2 kids 11 and 9)...and our Timmins to Toronto flights are $787 for the 4 of us (yay for 60% off sales - no more driving 8-10 hours!).

Last year we flew out of Buffalo on Airtran for something like $69 each, but it was late January, not March Break.
