What kind of Christmas tree do you have?

This is the first Christmas after both kids have moved out. Combine that with coming down from the high of my daughters wedding last week, and neither of us was into putting up a big tree this year. Typically we put up a 9-10 foot real tree, the widest and fatest we can find.

We started the tradition when there was a nearby farm that got amazing 9-10 foot trees for a flat $100. That lasted about 10 years before they stopped getting trees. We have had to pay so much more ($250+) since to get inferior trees and just couldn't do it this year.

So this year we have a baby 6' tree that was $59. It being so small made it so simple to setup. Normally it takes my son and I a great deal of effort to get the tree straight in the stand and in the house. There are multiple scrape marks on the ceiling where it turned out the tree was taller than the room.

This year it was so simple just by myself. No need to use a step ladder at all during the process. Disposal will be so simple as well.

Are you a real or artificial tree person? Big or small? Fat or skinny?

We just use an old cheap plastic one from Walmart. You know the one that looks like it was made out of green pipe cleaner (stealing a quote from my favorite Christmas movie, A Christmas Story). However, DW wants a Ballsome Hill, whatever that is. But we just have been using this one for about 5 years. That said, a lot of the bottom section of lights isn't working, so it looks like we will have to buy another one this season. Not looking forward to that.

Real. Really real 😂 We buy a permit and go out and cut ours fresh in the mountains. This year we went to a new area so our tree is smaller than usual. As for the getting the real tree to stand up we found an amazing tree stand that makes it SO easy, its called, Krinner Christmas Tree Genie

We used to have a 9' tree, but downsized because of the difficulty for us to put ornaments at the top.
This year it is 7'. I just sorted ornaments (well from the 3 boxes I got out) to put our favorites on the tree.

We've always had a 7 footer. We love it. But as I said, some of the lights went out. We only put balls on ours. DW has 3 tubs of Hallmark ornaments from the 70s-00s. All come with original box and wrappers. Her grandmother used to work for Hallmark, and my DW got them when her grandmother passed. We've never even put them out. Literally, 3 large tubs.
