I just can't decide what to get. It will be me and my 7 year old DD. I'm going to get her a small rolling case and maybe a small backpack. I'm not sure what I should get. What does eveyone else use? I need some ideas! Thanks! :goodvibes

I use my DisneyWorld big tote bag and place that one in the overhead storage. I also have my Vera Bradley backpack pocketbook to keep with me.

Are you also checking luggage? If so, try to get away with as little carryon as possible. We use our Disney tote bags also. Dd uses her school backpack. We just don't like to have a lot of stuff to schlep around the airport.....main reason we do checked luggage now. Such a pain to go to the ladies room with all your carryon....especially if it's just my dd and myself.

When DS was small he used his school backpack. It was enough for a pair of shorts and t-shirt, plus a change of underwear, his comb and toothbrush, plus some things to keep him occupied on the plane.

Thanks! That's what I was thinking about too, since it's just my DD and I, I don't really want to be dragging a lot around with us around the airport. We will be checking luggage too.

I just got this 17" wheeled tote at Kohl's for our next trip. It's big enough to hold all of our essentials (paper work, camera, prescription meds, extra clothing in case luggage gets lost etc) and keep it all organized but not too big. I like that it has the wheels and extending handle to I don't need to actually carry it on my shoulder. I am forever looking for the "perfect" carry on bag. I can't stand when we have several bags and everything is loose and disorganized inside. It makes it difficult to find anything. I guess that's the OCD in me ;)

sorry....can figure out to post a picture of it. If you want to see which one it is, go to Kohls.com and search for "ricardo luggage" it is the 17" wheeled tote.

Last fall I travelled to Europe with my 81 yr old mil. She had a regular tote bag for her carry-on. I had a wheeled backpack. It turned out to be a life-saver because I cd use it as a backpack & carry her carry-on when she was not able to up & down stairs in train stations, etc & thru customs. My checked suitcase was a 20" or 22" rolling bag & I was able to roll both the suitcase & backpack at the same time when I had the opportunity. I have had a shoulder injury & having to carry a regular tote bag really bothers me.
