What kind of car do you have & do you like it?

1998 Mercury Mystique - I love her only because she's mine. :teeth: She's had some engine troubles and the "check engine" light loves to go on and off randomly. We haven't told her yet about the move to Washington State.

We just bought a 2004 Honda Pilot last week - love it, love it, love it!

I have a Pontiac Transport Minivan.
I "love" it except for the fact that:

-the windshield wipers only work on high...they also don't automatically sink down, you have to time it just right when you turn them off or they're stuck in the middle of the windshield

-the passenger door falls apart if you pull it from the inside. You have to use your fingertips to shut it by pulling along the bottom edge of the window (DH says this isn't a problem since nobody is usually in the passenger seat:rolleyes: ).

-the check engine light is always on

-no matter what parts or how many times it is fixed it stil drips/burns oil...have to carry oil with me at all times

-it's nearly impossible for anyone but a very limber monkey to climb into the third row.

-the lock on the rear hatch is broken

-no automatic starter...why would I need that when I'm driving 3 year old twins around in sub-zero temps.

The good news is that its ten years old. It shouldn't be too long before the thing dies and puts it and me out of our misery.

I drive a Black 4WD 2004 Ford Excursion. We absolutely love it. We drove it to Colorado a couple weeks ago and it was great! Much better than the van I drove for 6 years!:bounce:

I have a 1999 VW Jetta with 104,000+ miles on it...and I will drive it til the engine falls out! ::yes:: :teeth: The car is paid for...I paid it off 3 years early, wasn't supposed to pay it off til 2003. So when I say it's mine...IT'S MINE!! :teeth: When I'm done with my Jetta, I will only replace it with 1) another Jetta or 2) another VW. ::yes::

In the last 5 years, I've owned these:

'98 White Maxima SE (most luxurious, not bad pickup)

'99 Light Pewter Corvette Coupe (obviously most sporty!)

'01 Silver Pathfinder (had cool toys like GPS and DVD, but not roomy enough)

'99 4WD Black Tahoe (nice and big, but the Jap cars were more reliable)

I liked them all, but I'm sticking with the Tahoe (I guess I need to be Tahoechick, not vettechick!)

:earsboy:

We love VWs, too and have a 2002 Passat wagon that I really enjoy driving. It's got the coolest dashboard too--especially at night:D Our other car is a 1993 Plymouth Voyager and we certainly have gotten our $'s worth out of it, but when she does go, I'd love to get a VW Tourag.:smooth:

We are a Honda family. I have a 2001 Honda Accord EX that I love and only has 13,000 miles on it. But, I really want an SUV. I would like the Pilot but it's too expensive for me (ditto the Jeep Cherokees) so I am now on the CRV kick. Can't wait for ex-husband to pay off the Accord so I can trade it in :p

'95 Taurus - only real problem has been with the battery, but that's not the car's fault! ;)

I love it, even if I hate the color! (mint green  )

We have a 2000 Mazda 626, no complaints and no major maintenance issues. Does great on gas and it does it's j-o-b. In about a month we are going to purchase the Toyota Seqouia, our little family expanded last month so we need room for another carseat, strollers and all that good stuff. Plus I'm 5'9 and DH is 6'2 so we need the extra leg room and DD(5) wants a DVD player for long trips.

I love my Ford Expedition. Its a 98. I just wish I could afford a brabd new one!

DH just bought his dream auto a 98 Chrystler Sebring Convertable Last year I surprised him and rented one on a 3 day trip to Florida, well we drove with the top down the whole time. We fell in love instantly! He loves this car for sure!

We are a Pontiac Family at my house. My wife drives a 2002 Pontiac Montana and I just recently got a 2004 Pontiac Vibe. This is our 5th Pontiac now and I have had great luck with them. Of course the Vibe is really a Toyota in Pontiac clothes, but it has all the styling cues of the Pontiac which I like.

It's funny that Tinktwins mentioned renting a Convertable and then buying one. We had the same experience but in a Minivan. The first trip we took to Florida after my son was born was in 1998 (he was 1 1/2) so we rented a minivan. Wife fell in love with the whole minivan concept, driving position, comfort, convenience so we came home and bought a Pontiac Montana shortly after. We traded that one in on our 2002 about a year or so after our daughter was born because we wanted the extended length. The original one was the standard (short) wheelbase model.

:D

I just bought a Chevy Blazer (used) and I love it. I've never had an SUV before and I love having 4-wheel drive. The gas mileage isn't as good as the other cars that I had, but I feel safer in the blazer.

2000 Nissan Quest (stonewash blue)------I do love it, but the new ones look really good inside, with the overhead windows, and the console with the radio controls, heater, etc
DH has a Jeep Wrangler (1987) which he loves, ......except the windshield has cracked 3 times, 2 which needed to be replaced, (very expensive) and one that he caught in time and had fixed.

2000 Dodge Dakota.....................LUV it!

I have a 95 Ford Escort. I love it and am upset they stopped making them. It's a great little car.

DH has an Escape and he loves it. I like it a lot better than the Explorer he had before.

What??????????????? There aren't any other SUBARU lovers out there??? We both come from Ford families, and we owned Fords the first few years we got married. Well, our Contour was started to fade out and we looked into the Escapes as well as Jeep Liberties. Then I had to have emergency surgery so both of our mothers came up here for a week at a time and they both rented a Subaru Outback...can we all say "love at first sight?" So we bought one the next month- 10/02.

Why do we love it? The HANDLING. Subarus are AWD and have a special handling mechanism that is different than how most cars are built (I can't remember what it is called, but DH goes on and on about it). It is built as sturdy as a tank or larger SUV, but gets Way better gas mileage. It has very nice features, and I think we are going to be lifelong customers of Subarus- they are GREAT!

And mine is a VERY Northwesterny Forest Green with tan trim.:D

I have Nissian Sentra 93 that has over 105,000 miles on it which I love. But I am ready for a new car. I already has put 2,000 maintence work in the car and it on last legs. The one I am on purchase is Nissian Altima 04. I love that car. It's so cool. But I can't purchase the car until get a better job then I have. :sighs:

Toyota family here! I have a 2004 Toyota Sienna Limited and I LOVE this minivan! I have never loved a vehicle like I do this one!! Dh has a 2004 Toyota Land Cruiser (yup, he works for Toyota!)!! :teeth:

I just recently traded in my 2001 Ford Focus Wagon for a 2004 Chevy Cavalier. The only thing we don't like about the new car is a lack of space. There's now way we can get us and all our stuff to WDW now! Guess we have to re-think how we pack. ;)

My favorite thing about the Cavalier is that I can drive it in bad weather! Woo-hoo! I hate being afraid to drive when it's snowing. With the Focus I couldn't go anywhere (including work) if it was even thinking about snowing. In 2 1/2 years of owning the Focus I put 3 new sets of tires on it, but the Ford Company swore there was nothing wrong with the car.
