Hi Ladies,
Could some one let me in on the must have accessories for the big day! I can't imagine I will have a purse but maybe I should. earings? Necklaces and shoes? :bride: What is your advice? :bride:

i say jewelry is a must. That all depends on you and your dress and what would look best. I'm not carrying a purse, I will have a bag in the room I'm getting in with necessities, so if I need them someone can get them. Also my dress has pockets. lol never thought a wedding gown would have pockets :rotfl:, so I will carry hankie and lip gloss. No cell for me that day!

Something to hold your tissues is sort of standard, isn't it? Of course, you could always do what we did last year as bridesmaids: we stuck 'em down our dress! That's what cleavage is for, right? :rotfl2:

(It was a very casual, fun kind of wedding, so when the three of us gals whipped our tissues out, everyone laughed and it sort of broke into all the sobbing that was going on!)

Don't forget about your undergarments, which are sort of like accessories. Depending on your dress, you may need a special bra, crinolin (sp?), support, etc. You'll also need to decide on your veil and/or tiara, other jewelry, and touch up makeup, which will be especially important for pics afterward, I think. Hope that helps!

Lets see, I had a small purse that I carried (and my Mom held during the ceremony). Pearl earrings, pearl choker, dyed shoes, garder and veil.

my veil, necklace & earrings, shoes, a blue garter and a hankie were my accessories.

I had:

earrings (no necklace b/c of all the beading on my bodice)
tiara/veil
garters (2)
glass slippers

no purse (had an aunt hold my regular purse)

Oh, I also had a shawl that I made, but it was a little short, so I didn't wear it very long (about halfway to the reception).

btw, don't wear a watch! :)

good luck!

I did not carry a purse and I found it to be a problem when I needed lipstick for the photos. My bridesmaids were really good about it but not always available when I needed it. Just something to think about.

well, things may certainly change as the day gets closer, but as of now i am planning on wearing/carrying the following:

*still contemplating whether or not to wear a necklace/choker because of how detailed my dress and tiara are
*earrings
*sparkly bracelets on both arms
*tiara and short veil
*no watch
*the handkerchief my mom used in her wedding
*and someone on my family's side promised they would hold my purse for me--i HAVE to have the back-up lipstick and gloss! that's my thing...:)

you will find that you fall in love with certain things you try on, and won't be as crazy about others. and don't be afraid to ask your friends and family what they think! you'll be gorgeous no matter what! so have fun!!

a garter ;)
I did buy a purse but I will have someone else hold it :rotfl2: It is small and for things like asprin, backup makeup, mints etc.
