What is your single biggest expense in your budget every month/year?

two car payments. ugh. I will not do that again. one is okay but two isnt :confused3

I'd never thought about it before, but it's groceries. I really don't mind that, it's just all the $300 payments for various things that add up and kill me!

other than the obvious mortgage, Hands down GROCERIES probably b/w 600-700 per month!

Child care - $2000!!!
More than my rent.
Next September it will be rent, childcare ($1000) and then groceries ($500-$600/mo.)

After rent... it's groceries!! Then car payments and car insurance!

CARS! We pay more for our cars than we do for our home. We are maintaining 3 cars with a teen driver. DH and I both use our cars for business so we drive lots of miles a month which means monthly oil changes, tires more often, expensive car insurance, gas for 2 of the 3 cars.

My biggest expense is vacations and manicures. I probably spend about $20,000 a year. I consider "fun" a top priority!

**kidding*** Mine is groceries and insurance.

Whilst making your children pick through others' trash for usable food and clothing so as to take your 8th trip this year? ;) Thank goodness that community board thread is closed :rotfl:

It's a tie between DD's figure skating lessons and groceries. Both are about $800 a month each. Add in new figure skates and blades each year at $500 a pop, practice skating dresses at $60 on up each, competition skating dresses at $150 and up per dress (needs one dress per event), tights, competition fees, coaching competition fees & expenses, travel, hotel and food during competitions, skating club membership, then DD's skating is a lot more than the groceries.

College tuition for my two DDs. $5500 per month on payment plan. Five times what my monthly mortgage payment is.

The last 5 years it was the highest priced public college in Wisconsin, LOL - UWMadison at about $17,500 per year total. Plus his insurance etc.

Now it is Property Taxes and all the clothing that 14 year old girl wears....................

2 kids in private high school =$$$$$!!!

My Kids............

Three kids in private school.....$1800 per month.

Kids Activities: DD's baton and tumbling, boy's guitar and baseball......$850

Luckily, my kids aren't "into" designer clothes and ds is still a few months away from being able to drive. I don't even want to imagine adding in the cost of insurance for a 16 year old boy!!!
