What is your opinion on the United Kingdom?

Our town is overrun with homeless. Downtown area has streets and parks set up with tents, and the garbage and mess left roadside are terrible. We also still have regular riots going on, and the destruction from that, as well as the graffiti is an ongoing issue. Several businesses are leaving our downtown area, which still has not been able to recover from everything being closed.

My family is spread across the whole US, and I don't live in the area where I grew up anymore either. So, a long distance for both. Never internationally though. I don't understand the appeal of destination weddings. I would prefer to plan my own vacation, thank you. Maybe if my best friend ever gets married and decides to do that I would consider attending, or one of my own kids someday, but otherwise, I would decline.

Not far - maybe a 1/2 hour

To many new houses & new subdivisions and no new roads to accommodate all of them - the traffic around here is RIDICULOUS!

We are moving out of the area where we currently live. It's a suburb of Philadelphia. We are moving to a nearby suburb - a historic town that has a different vibe. Our current town is ok, but we've seen it change over the 23 years we've lived here. There's more traffic, more drugs, more violence - it's generally going downhill. We live on the outskirts of the town, and these things are creeping closer to us. It's time to move before DD14 hits the high school (which is 25 minutes away). When DD18 went there, she reported some very disturbing things. We pulled her out and sent her to private high school for 11th and 12th grades. DD14 is going to private high school in the fall.

Our oven's not working, and it's...all my fault. I baked some potatoes last week and I forgot to poke holes in them so a few of them exploded and took out the top heating coil. Turns out they don't make the part for this particular model anymore. So we need a completely new stove. My aunt is only making me pay for half. I guess my half's the oven. :rolleyes2

@NYCgrrl - of course you don’t have to answer but I was asking a sincere question, since the “What’s for Dinner” thread is practically your food blog and many of us follow you there daily. ;)

Our neighborhood is surrounded by a farm, every May when they till the field we have to battle mice. Some years we get lucky and none come into our home or garage. This year was an unlucky year.

How do you cook?
A microwave, convection toaster oven, and induction burner works wonders.
I have to offer apologies to my mother. She lived in this apartment before me and constantly complained about the oven. Her rotten kiddos giggled amongst themselves that it had to do with her “cooking abilities” since the stove was only a few years old.

My Ipad is acting up making it hard to respond. No offense taken at all, LOL.
Oh and Mom was never offended by the in-house joking that surrounded her cooking. She’d say she was dressed for dinner and what time should she arrive.

This house has always had issues with the drains. The main tub and 2 bathroom sinks often drain slow or clog.

(toy) hedgehog and venomous shoe string infestation-if you believe my cats. throughout the day (and night) they will bring either their toy hedgehog or one of their many shoestrings to us and meow of how they protected us from imminent and deadly attack.
