What is your opinion on the United Kingdom?

In no particular order:
The US cancellation of the Keystone XL pipeline. Severe Covid-related lock-downs still in effect (hopefully seeing the light at the end of that tunnel now) and unemployment/income disruption due to Covid. Campaign lunacy from candidates as our municipal election approaches. A nation in mourning after a high-profile hate crime in another part of the country earlier this week. Children's educational outcomes after almost two years of intermittent on-line learning.

I could go on...

I live here and must say, if you know where to go, it can be heavenly. London is kinda cool, but teeny seaside fishing towns like Salcombe (getting a bit touristy these days) are sooo much more attractive!

Or perhaps St. Ives? An obvious choice, but gorgeous :)

Judging by my Nextdoor newsfeed, one would assume the most pressing issue around here is, “What kind of snake is this?”

I think we might be neighbors. Lol. My Nextdoor feed is similar.

Traffic, traffic, traffic. It’s NOVA, so traffic will always be an issue. The positive aspect of the shutdown was my daughter learned to drive without many people on the road.

LOL Big one on My Nextdoor feed is someone with a train horn on their car blowing it. Only happens when the wind is coming from the North, where the RAILYARD IS! And all these folks who catch everyone dropping a gum wrapper on their Ring or security cameras or cell phones, NOBODY in 10 years that they guy has allegedly been around has gotten video of the vehicle.

When I was 17 my parents drove me from the San Francisco Bay area to San Diego so I could play in a field hockey tournament down in Chula Vista at the Olympic training center.

My dishwasher has been broken for months and months and repair parts are non-existent. And right now there's a ton of housework that needs to be done but won't get done right away because I'm down with an injury. I wish I'd had a chance to plan this little accident then I could have had everything taken care of in advance.

I'm your typical American. I have little to no personal knowledge. No where near as much as people from other countries know about the US.
That being said I have had several friends from the UK and they are amazing. So, if I can make a generalization (which is probably to my detriment) if everyone in the UK is that nice, warm and friendly I'm honored to call the country awesome!
