Well...after having just finished our first June trip...I'd say we had fun..but it was hot and wet! I would have been disappointed if it was my "trip of a lifetime". The crowds weren't that bad though!

We've done both summer and winter. December is best, but you usually don't want to go to the water parks. June was fun, but August was almost unbearable. I wouldn't go back in August if I had too. Well, maybe I could be persuaded. pirate:

I personally couldn't stand going between about June and Aug...waaaay too hot for me. :sunny:

Too hot :furious: And too crowded :dance3: !!!!!!

We are going at the end of Sept. but I will never go when school is out again!

I don't give a hoot what time of the year it is, I'm up for a trip to WDW. Now, DH is a different story. We went during August & he swore never again. Sbella

The parks are just too busy and the heat almost kills me. I prefer going around October time.

It's hot :cool1: But it's the only time we go. This is because my mother works in a school and we have to go during her school holidays! I don't mind much!

We went to WDW in the summer twice. Of course, we had a great time. However, I will never go back in the summer. It's too crowded and much too hot.

Its the only time we go have two kids in school. Its not that bad watch the heat and plan and your just fine.

None of the poll options applied for me. My poll option would have been : "don't have much choice but to vacation during the summer".
We don't particularily favor our summer trips, but now that kids are older ---in middle school thru college----we don't have much of a choice. They either can't miss school or if they do, miss way too much work. When they were little we used to love going mid Sept through mid December time period. My personal choice would be to visit during Jan or Feb because I hate the winters in the northeast and would love to be able to escape. But for now, school calendars dictate when we go.
We feel we've mastered the summer crowds/heat. We get up very early and go to the parks and stay until about noon. Then we leave...chill at the resort....plan a sit down meal in the heat of the day and return in the evening to the parks. We take full advantage of the FP system as well.
As for the incentives.....I think I probably would have planned a late August vacation vs an early Aug for the free dining. But then again, I'm thinking it may draw in even more crowds and I'm wondering how easy it would have been to make PS ?

We go to WDW every summer. We have for years! Last year we went in April, and I was so bummed that we did not have a summer trip planned, so I planned a "quick" trip. ;) Yes, it is hot, humid and in August rains frequently in the afternoon, but we love it. As long as you take an afternoon break, it's tolerable, it's WDW!!!!!!!!!!!!! :sunny:

If I had a choice, I'd always pick summer.

By using fastpass and EMH, we can stay of the crowds.
Everything is up and running.
The parks are open late.
I get to pay value season rates.
I don't have to deal with any school issues. By going in the summer I don't have to think about my son missing days. I don't have to worry about him having to make up missed class work. We don't have to spend vacation time doing homework.

 :cheer2: :dance3:

It's hot - it's crowded - it's the only Disney I know. We have only gome in the summer because my husband is a teacher. We plan on doing a long weekend sometime during the school year soon.
