We are taking two 6 year olds and a two year old to the cabins in two weeks! YEA! I wanted to start talking about all the fun things. I was interested in hearing your experiences with your kids. I am really looking forward to the campfire. I bought stuff for smores. :)

Is the petting zoo a fun thing? My dd loved chasing the goats at AK with a brush last November. Do they have the brushes at this petting zoo?

Thanks!

My daughter loves the pool and if they're playing Bingo she will miss just about anything to join in.

My daughter loves catching lizards......she can't wait to get back and search for stubby......:yoda:

The petting zoo is a blast for young'uns, my nephew loves that place. Unless your kid is afraid of animals, I think taking them on one of the little pony rides is tons of fun.

And be sure to take them over to the stables, prop them up on your shoulders and show them the big show horses that pull the carriages, they'll flip out when they see how big they are!

Unfortunately the petting zoo is pretty lame now a day, aside from the pony there are no animals left, they used to have goats, sheeps, chicken, pigs, etc, my kids loved it.

Yea, it is definitely a lot smaller, but last Thanksgiving they actually had a few goats, a couple pigs, so it looks like they've at least brought some of the animals back. Nowhere near as full as it used to be, but my wife just couldn't get enough of watching the little piggies play in the mud...hah

I asked my kids and they said-

13 yr old- being able to ride her bike everywhere and renting a kayak
10 yr old- outdoor movie and fireworks at the beach
6 yr old- Hoop Dee Doo and pools

1. We try to visit every playground (there are several scattered throughout the campground).

2. Bring a basketball, and play on one of the BB courts. (You can also borrow one from the Bike Barn).

3. My kids love to play tether-ball. There are several tether-ball poles throughout the campground. They would never touch one at home, but for some reason it is fun at FW (plus I always let them win).

the important thing will be to take some time to actually relax at the campground...when you pay so much you want to go go go, but do take time to enjoy the outdoor movies, sing a longs, the fireworks from the beach..do they still have the electric water parade go by? also our family enjoyed swimming at night after coming back from the parks. have fun and enjoy the time together.

Our 10 5 and 4 years old like the smores at teh campfire then taking the boat back to MK so we can get our bus back to our resort.
